Disco Slippers

Appears they painted the cleat plate with black pearl coating too?

It’s all about that oil slick…

Cheap and non-garish for the big R. But still, $300, really?

TC: I don’t care for all this oil slick shit I’m seeing recently.

yeah me too
like ok what’s next

Have they done clown puke splatter paint yet?

That strap on the rapha shoes would be in the least comfortable spot for me

There’s a lot of colored tires in bmx. Let’s hope that doesn’t transfer over.

For the life of me, I do not understand this. Colored sidewalls? Sure. Colored tread? Whyyyyyy?

Does colored rubber have less grip? That was the story back when everyone was color matching their Rubinos to their frames

That’s how I understood it. Less grip, more prone to drying/cracking.

reading Tarck the last month or two it seems like it might be too late

The SE Racing retro models are particularly guilty of popularizing colored tires.

SHOE Q:

is it normal for Boa dials to really pop hard when releasing? I am using them for the first time with my Bonts, and it feels like I’m going to pull them off the shoe when I release them.

Also is it possible to switch dial types on a shoe? I’d like one that does loosening microadjustments too, not just tightening.

I picked up a pair of the Sleuth DLX last week and they are pretty nice. A little narrow for me, but that’s normal (and would probably be normal for most people). The grip on the pedals is great for commuting. Might try to do my next actual mtb ride in them.

I had also been hoping they’d look a little more Samba-like when they were first announced, but I like them anyway.

A better thing in bmx a lot of raw finishes on frames and things. It could be a step up from a lot of stock paint jobs.

I think I ruined my shoes.

So last year after a ride I threw my mountain bike shoes behind the driver’s seat and then forgot about them until a few weeks ago because I’d only been riding road. At some point they got jammed under the seat, and then somehow got heat molded so that there is a permanent depression in the toe (the top part not the sole). It is small but given the shoe fits like a glove it makes them almost unwearable.

So how do I undent these fuckers? I’ve tried a shoe tree, I’ve tried wetting them and packing them with paper, and I’ve thrown them in a 200 degree oven and tried to hand-remold them. I don’t want to discard them over a tiny dent.

Pic?

Wouldn’t be visible at all in a picture.
