Endpoint bikes (and Outpost) thread

But imagine the frame bag you could fit in there!!!

our duper proto process consists of finding bikes that we think fit our design concept and then mailing ENDPOINT stickers to strangers to adhere to their dupers

For the new HG, will you have some in stock like the NM, or 4-6 week order?

We should have a firm answer HOPEFULLY by the end of the month. We’re still waiting on a few key material skus to land and then get forwarded to the builders. Everything is primed and ready to launch pre-orders one all the material sourcing is 100% confirmed.

It’s not a secret that the previous Hunter Gatherers were seemingly always delayed well past projected delivery. We’re not trying to have that happen again.

I finally got around to confirming some clearance metrics relevant to the PNW contingent.

Rear clearance is 700x32 WITH fenders.

Max clearance will vary based on front derailleur design.

700x36 with long arm derailleurs such as Campagnolo 2x11 and 5800, 6800, 4700

700x38 with Sram and current Shimano pushers.

Let’s say an aging, overweight guy I know (ahem) takes enjoyable gravel rides on an aging Ridley CX frame and enjoys it very much. He is curious about “modern” gravel bikes and the ways they might make increasingly long and probably increasingly sluggish rides out into the nearby farmland more enjoyable. He is tempted by the light “go fast” Coffee Grinder idea but is increasingly not “going fast” per se. He wonders if there might be something about the NM that, while heavier, will add comfort and capability while still feeling light and nimble. What advice might you give him?

This person is clearly trying to talk himself out of some money…

So I have NM and CG with pretty “different” setups. Maybe this will help.

NM has a boxy rando bag and dedicated 700c setup. Really optimized for long road rides and fast commutes. I’m probably going to settle on a 700x32 tire when the updated GP5k comes out.

CG switches between modes based on wheels. 650b for fast rides with some chunkier gravel, underbiking around town and living the fast bike with fat tires lifestyle. 700c fast wheels with 36mm tires for fast group rides where there’s dirt roads too. Aero bars much of the time. Minimal stuff on board.

Important to note that pretty much all the long rides in the Immediate are are going to be almost exclusively pavement. Even the 200k routes with some dirt are mostly paved.

I like the traditional trail of the CG for aerobars, gravel, and similar. I’m trying to really slim down this setup and resist the urge to be over prepared.

I love that I can just toss a bunch of crap into the bag on the NM and go. It probably rides a bit better. It planes.

Not sure if that helps or not.

what’s this consist of specifically? I assume the tires are Strada Biancas…

They are.

What sort of rim dimensions?

It’s been a while but I want to say i18

@EndpointBraden so for the guy who already has a H/G and is looking to replace a nerdavinden with a discroad bike that’s basically never going to have more than a small rando bag, 700c only (ever) and wants to go fast sometimes but really just wants to ride all day long, NM vs CG?

It almost sounds like CG is the one…

Bro that’s NM atmo
That’s a rando bike, a light touring bike. 30s with fenders and mid/low trail.

agreed with mig. that sounds like the nite moves. might not need the search light fork, but nerda seems more analogous to the nite moves. just the nite moves probably won’t break as much
