Fenders

the Italian fella’s initial thoughts were that they were stainless and from china, just asked some more followup questions

think it’s time to start combing through the catalogs of all the lowrider junk distributors to see if we can spot something
I have them, and they’re fine. They’re not Gooey’s beautifully massaged Berthouds, but they get the job done just fine, and they’re cheap. I would like the rear more if it were just a tad longer, covering the bike tire better, but I’ll eventually drill them for Buddy Flaps and it won’t matter much.

I just realized that I have no picture of them, so I’ll snap a photo and share it, soon.
word. i bought a set of the Buddy Flaps TM but was not fully pleased with the width of them, and haven’t installed them on anything. thinking i might just get my ass around to doing some other manner of DIY flap, i’ve just been too lazy to dig up the preferred material folks have been using. probably a few pages back in this thread actually

Thought this was interesting, looks pretty well done if homemade. Not sure what the state of fatbike fenders are these days.

Big O Manufacturing has the killer option for fat bikes and 29+

their website is fucked up right now tho http://bigomfg.com

Lady wants some black metal fenders for her Crosscheck.

Do these suck? Is there a better option?

Who’s getting some fat fenders soon?

please tell me that is your backyard

Those are probably fine.
I have the VO Zepplins on my P/R and they are fantastic. Probably the best thing VO has ever made.

hahahha.

Guys I don’t know what size tires and wheels you are looking for but the 60mm Berthoud fenders fit over Switchback Hills perfectly on my bike. Just FYI.

I have the Zeppelins that Rusty linked above, gently massaged to go over Switchback Hills. Looks real nice and clean, but clearance is the trade off, definitely leaves something to be desired. Never been a problem but it is close…

If I have a fender catastrophe I’ll probably grab those Berthouds, because apparently nobody can make a good black fender in a nice big sizeway. That said, I would recommend VO fenders for literally any tire size under 48’s because they are solid, fairly easy to set up, and have the best front-rear coverage of any of the black options.

Reading that the VOs fit 48mm tires makes me kinda bummed that I went with the ALX, because the black Velo Orange fenders are pretty much one of the three or four things that they do right.

Yah, I’ve got the Zepps too. Very happy, I think they look great. Did just notice I put a big dent in the front fender tho, don’t remember doing that.

Shartq. Don’t really want metal-on-carbon damage with metal fenders. Is that dumb, or are there any good plastic fenders?

you could put a thick plastic sticker between the metal and carabon. otherwise longboards have been ok for me.
