Framebuildin'

For the record I misread and imagined a tapered headtube :joy:

Coffee grinder has a 35mm dt but a 28.6mm tt and 44mm ht.

I think the the smallest you can go without it looking pretty wonky unless it’s a very small frame.

is this for a marino?

Nope! Guy who built my hardtail wants to build one more frame before he starts charging real money. He’s going to build it for cost +$150. Hopefully start building it in January.

Thanks I was wondering about the specs on the coffee grinder.

Maybe a 35mm dt will be fine. Or I just hide it behind a stem bag…

Oh sick. Looks pretty unwonky

Maybe the raw finish conceals it or I’ve gotten used to big head tubes but it doesn’t look terrible to me

I was just watching the TTW bios (after the event) and Rufus Wenlock talks a bit about his weird bikepacking frame in his one.

I’ve been searching for steel canti mounts with replaceable studs, do these exist anymore?

Framebuilder Supply in Portland doesn’t list any, but I bet they could tell you if they exist somewhere.

I might have some of the cast ones somewhere, but you can chop and tap the regular mounts too.

Oh shit! Thanks!

Construction varies between bosses but those round ones have a lot of material.

I’ll check out the set I have. I want the removable ones because I’m a nerd and want to remove the posts when I remove the brakes to run it fixed.

If you want the set I chopped I have no plans for them these days.

I appreciate the offer! Let me check to make sure I can still use my buddy’s shop to glue them on first before you send me anything.
