Framebuildin'

Much to my consternation. So many wasted days at the gym for zero gains bro.

I hear melatonin develops you quite nicely

Do it. I’m a bit heavier than you (183 freedom units), ride machines with a ~600mm ETT, and have been building frames out of 7/4/7 standard (1"/1.125" TT/DT) tubing without noticing any excessive shimmy.

The only thing that I could see that might make it more shimmier is that you’ve got a tremendously long HT & ST.

I had wondered about that, maybe if there’s a tubeset that stays a bit thicker at the ends it might allow for smoothness but not too much twist over long runs of tube?

yes the most interesting/unique selections are the 25.4 TT and the double butted ST

there used to be a marginally lighter S3 seat tube that was 28.5mm OD, but has been out of production a few years now

For A E S T H E T I C S I wanted the level top tube. Do you think a 2* TT slope, reducing ST length, would mitigate potential shimmy or just be a drop in a bucket at this length?

You could make it a level top tube, but 10cm lower than your current plan (and use a cygne stem to get it back.)

Ah the Rodriguez fit.

The “Don’t you want to slam that stem?” fit!

I can’t believe I didn’t think of this.

looking good! what tubeset is that?

Deda fire light top and down tube, Nova headtube machined down, seattube is ?? I have some mystery 7005 tubes from both Marinoni and Guru, the seattube is from that collection.

This bike is going to be winter bike for a racer bro. Geo copied from his caad12. Room for 32s and fenders.

canadian tube underground

I had a bike that was either Force or Fire like 20 years ago, the shop that built it for me was like “maybe we misbadged? anyhow, enjoy a bicycle”!

With the exception of scandium it’s kind of all the same.

In the Deda line up fire light is generally single butted and Aegis is double butted with more shapes and stuff.

Lots of drama in the shartq thread so hopefully this is a safe space.

How bad will a 44mm head tube look with a 28.6 top tube and a 31.75 down tube?

I think it will look cool as hell

Why not a tapered head tube?

how much head tube are we talking? hospital can or tallboy?

Good enough for Papa Pasta = good enough for me!

No real reason…I like the way straight head tubes look.

150mm…tallish boy?
