fucking chains

Not used to having to deal with a chain breaker at all.

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE.

Finally got the length right (i think), and now I have to find a/these tight links.

wait, dealing with a chain breaker, or without?

with.

In the past the shop made in the right length and it had a master link.

new chain does not.

next time save the old chain and use that to measure the new one

Alright I have to be doing something wrong, my chain is acting all wonky and I cant figure otu why. I checked for tight spots and am almost positive thats not the problem.

Any ideas?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6WkLxS7tQI

Maybe it is? I didnt have a lockring tool until like a week ago sooooooooooo. Im ok with being a dumbass as long as this is solved. Let me see if it can thread it on the other way.

swefa

Yes. Cog’s on backwards. The tapered part should face the spokes, which will give you a few more mm between the two currently rubbing elements.

Cog was on backwards.

:colbert:

Time to go ride this shit in the dark, brb broz.

Cog on backwards = you are dumb.

Now, now… well, yeah, you’re right. I believe Surly cogs like that one come with pretty specific instructions for proper installation. Will we follow directions from now on, Brvn? Hmmm?
