i got the atmos 65 and my brother has the aether 70.
I think we both prefer the way the atmos hipbelt is.
I don’t know any actual difference beyond that but I can look at them better if you want.

BTW… you need 10 liters of water for two days? Is it 100F+ and no water sources along the way whatsoever either day?[/quote]
there are no reliable water sources in northern Arizona, most of what there is are artificial cow and elk tanks that I wouldnt drink without straining, boiling, pumping and hitting with iodine. Shit is mad questionable.
after running light on water on a couple trips I also tend to over carry. Dehydration is the fucking worst. so 3 liters a day to drink,1 liter a day to cook/clean + coffee + a little extra in case I get stranded.
I think im in the low 20s for pack weight, I have heavy gear but were talking like one pound here and there nothing crazy.
@turp
Yeah I’ve played with the atmos 65 a bit and it seems REAL comfy. I want to feel both with weight in order to figure it out but I think I would like a bit more space rumor has it that the aether belt feels better at higher weights. (gearheads be telling me that there is no significant difference other than the belt)
which cantilever brakes to buy?
must narrow profile + threaded pad
What headlamps are you guys into for hiking? Requirements: Must be inexpensive, uncomplicated. Bright colors a plus.
I have trp revox on my violet elephant. Good power, seem to modulate rather than grab, no judder (whatever the reason). But my sample size is 1
I have a BD Spot and a Petzl Tikka Plus. The Spot is maybe 3 years old and the Petzl is at least ten. I use the Spot more because it has a red LED and high and low power white LEDs. It looks like the current model has some kind of touch control, which I might not like because climbing/hiking/working on cars might set it off inadvertently. They also make a waterproofed version now. Petzl seems to have redesigned their Tikka line but functionally they are probably similar. A lot of folks seem to like Princeton Tec but I haven’t personally used any of theirs.
I don’t care for the type with the top-head strap or the rear battery pack as they seem to be less flexible with hats or to slide around your neck for added light on your hands rather than directional with your head.
I use Eneloop rechargeable AAAs in both headlamps and my Snow Peak lantern, which are awesome minus the annoyance that the batteries charge in pairs but are used in threes in the devices.

Shimano CX70
comes with a chart that tells you which of the spacers and straddles to use based on your setup, and then everything’s squared up with no adjustments to fuck up
cx 70 give me about as much of it as can be expected. also, you end up with a bunch of purty spacers.
whatever $30-40 petzl they’re pumping these days.
don’t get the bd ion, the buttonless/gesture based switch is a major pain in the rear and the one i bought was defective and blindingly frustrating to attempt to use.
do i have to use the oe pads with these, or can use whatever i’ve got? buying carbon brake pads sucks.
you have to use their padholders
but they take standard inserts
yo, pantschat,
So I just blew up a pair of levis 511 commuters. (like 4mo of use) I think durability was compromised cuz they were hella skinny.
Anyone have experience with cadence stuff?
I had a pair of swrve for a lil over a year, but dont really like the cut + the color faded hella fast.
I heard this years levis shit missed the mark.
Already have some slim dungs too.
any advice?
These look dope but I’ve never owned a pair
how they not gonna make a 28. Those do look rad.
I think Im going to go with some durable cotton trousers from swrve, the shorts are 100% bombproof I figure they should last a while.
When replacing sup’s stages battery (again), I noticed my jeans have some tears near the crotch. So, may be in the market soon.
Why do you keep your sup’s stages near your crotch
Measuring power
RIP yr nuts
those waxed ones look badass.
Swrve’s pants cut has gotten a lot better with the new trim fit stuff too, I just had occasion to visit the factory store in Burbank and the newer trim fit stuff is a LOT better fitting than the stuff they were clearancing
Glad to hear it. Just ordered the swrve cotton pants things.
