I want to get sup a Garmin or Garmin-like watch for the holidays that will track GPS/time/HR for running and cycling. What’s good? The less blingy the better as long as it fulfills these functions. Any models to avoid? I figure if it has these functions it kind of doesn’t matter which model I get, just like with cycling GPS.
Looking for a new set of hoops for the cross bike. Need to have machined braking surface and be 19mm or wider inside. Tubeless is a plus. Almost bought some closeout wtb rims but I missed the boat. Gonna be +200 lbs on these things, so looking at 29er rims but I can’t find much with a braking surface.
Belgium + can meet those requirements.
wtb chriscross- 19 internal width.
I ordered a pair of those jeans.
Will report.
People here generally like the Trek District as a reasonable value in off-the-rack basketbiek right?

Yeah they do.
Coworker has this torker and it seems pretty ok.
Kinda wish I had gotten something like this for my first adult bike instead of a shitty mass production singlespeed.
Belgium plus looks sweet, possibly too baller for my parts bin doublecross though. Chris cross looks like exactly what I need, price is right too.
FWIW, I’m replacing some cr-18s that have not been the best for how hard I beat on them.

Districts are basically everything that every city bike wants to be, but never really does right. The only thing that’s really missing from them is stock dynamo lighting.
Wow, those districts look pretty good. I know what I’m going to recommend to coworkers who are eternally curious about, but never pull the trigger on, buying a bike. The biggest problem is the “it costs more than $150” factor.

the globe dailys were pretty sweet tho. no more i think?
the globe live was great. bought one cheap, added dyno/disc/de-derped the bars and put on better tyres and it was amazing. Could carry so much shit on it easily. sold it in a hot minute when I moved.
Timarchy has a Tom Tom iirc and likes it.

Yeah, those were rad. Globe was always Specialized’s bastard child - they never really nurtured it, or allowed it to grow into something more mature. Kinda typical of Spec.
We got supgirl a steel district (the blue one that has built in fenders and frontbasketlyfe, guess they call it the district 9 now?) and she loves every second of it, hydro dick and dynamo upgrades are planned
EDIT: that said- I only later saw the new Charge jawnz and the Grater 2 did induce some buyer’s remorse- only thing it’s missing is any sort of rack setup, but that 2x9 drivetrain with fenders and hydro dicks is really sweet
returning the Swrve things, the cut would be OK if I was 40lbs heavier or liked the look of snowpants.

I love my steel district / district 9
Mine’s a road bike now tho
Anyone use the Shimano RS685 yet? Considering it for the crossmuter/rainbike. My front shifter needs replacing anyway and the stock mechanical discs have a terrible lever feel. Kinda pricey though, and I’m running 10spd still, so I’d need to get a new cassette, rear der, and hub (or wheels since im on the cheapo stock ones anyway)…
Now that I’m typing it out it seems kinda silly to spend that much just to get better braking.
Anyone have thoughts on the TRP HY-RD?

damn that’s not bad! guess you could just slap a cheapo rear rack on (has the mounts) and then add a wald on the front for portage, eh?
