I’ve been using a Giro Rascal for Eli. It was a little too big when I bought it for him (about 1 year old) but it works great now on the push bike or the tyke toter.
What’s the most budget friendly, tubeless ready, wide (+28mm inner), 29er, unicorn rim?
6 bolt hubset. 20mm front 142/12mm rear?
Thanks guys I think I’m going to go for that lazer. They look good and compact

Ro’s first was a Giro Me2 like the above. Worked well atmo. I really cannot recommend the general style with the foam “visor” that extends out enough. Every time he’s had a significant fall he went face first.
This is good advice. I’ll look for something like this when she gets a little older and starts getting on a coaster bike
Kid’s current helmet is a Lazer. They make really good stuff.
+1 for Lazer kid helmets. My progeny uses a Lazer Max+, fits well, easily adjustable, seems to play well with a Yepp. Not sure about fitting a hat or whatever under it, though, so if you’re riding your kid around in legit cold weather, maybe explore other options? Looks like Lazer also makes snow sport helmets…
She won’t be riiding around with me enough while it’s still cold for that to be necessary. Mostly because she’s a turd and won’t keep her damn gloves on
Toddlers versus gloves, a battle for the ages. I’ve not ridden my kid in weather colder than 45degrees (uh, 8c?), so when she’s refusing gloves, I just take my scarf off and put it in her lap over her hands. seems to keep her warm, though I worry about an Isadora Duncan situation there with the trailing scarf edges. I’m hoping the seat, huge bags, and rearward position of the wheel will keep her safe.
update on rockbros1
they sent me a message after they sent the pants asking if i meant to order a large and that their sizes are smaller
I replied no, I read the description and made the appropriate decision based on the freaking sizing chart
he said he will send out pants in engrish.
I might get 2 pairs of pants.
Re: rapha boxers: hate the one with a pad. The regular merino are my favorite and I’ve tried a lot. I think this is very subjective tho since special bits, you know?
Are you fucking camping on tattooine?
the bike campers travel in pace lines to hide their numbers

These popped up randomly on ebay. So ugly, but so cheap.
Of course RockBros.
Of course.
uh
I do not regret them for $20.
still doesnt solve my wind problem though. But I am going to wear them under my leggings and shit and see if that keeps me toasty enough.
The fit is fine and stuff. I will probably like them a lot for winter camping.
I’ve ridden with Ada at about 30 degrees. I use this weird balaclava thing that I got for Christmas one year. It’s basically a heavy fleece scarf necktube with a thin Lycra head cover. Helmet fits perfectly over it. Then I get her buckled in and I put my puffy jacket around her and the seat and zip it closed to get it to stay on. It covers her hands so she they stay warm.
That is fucking genius

These are all excellent ideas! The jacket trick in particular is a stroke of genius. The more I do outdoors stuff with the kid, the more convinced I am that it's all about creating a microclimate around the entire kid, rather than trying to get them to wear a lot of hard to put on, easy to take off pieces of clothing. One of my kid's first intelligible phrases was "no hat" (followed by the kid tossing said hat into the nearest dumpster / sewer grate / pile of dog poop).
Yea who’s got the hookup on stillsuits?

Well now that you know your size for sure, maybe go for their other pant, featuring WindOut protection.
My favorite part with the jacket microclimate is when she holds her little bunny with its head poking out of the top of the jacket. OMGS OC UTE
