i really need some brifters… one so i can not be messing with my bar end friction when i need to shift, two so i can learn how to adjust index shifters.

There’s nothing wrong with that setup other than not being able to brake or shift easily in the drops. If that’s ever an issue I’d suggest a short stem and something like the Short & Shallows, which basically don’t have any tops.
They’re like $30 new.

See how the brifters are so much closer to the headtube, and still accessible in the drops?
Something tells me she’ll spend 99% of her riding time on the hoods or the tops, so I’m not really worried.
