Anyone have any recommendations for good shoes to run in clips and straps that are vegan-friendly? I looked at all the usual suspects, but they tend towards leather, and I keep having dreams where I bought a pair of Sambas or Ben Sherman’s and then felt really bad about it afterwards.
I just want something with a stiffer flat-ish sole that isn’t made of leather. I’m also trying to make sure the uppers connect smoothly, because my current shoes get caught going into my clips a lot.
i find that the classic vans hightops have slightly stiffer soles than the converse. not to mention some nice padding around your ankle incase you hit a crank.
slip on vans are vegan and have wonderful soles for riding in. I’ve ridden in them many times and enjoyed it. also, don’t get macbeths for riding. they die quickly.
I’m having nightmares about the sole of my shoes ripping of since I can see some major separation on my left shoe. I’m afraid of skidding and the sole of my shoe ripping completely off.
I think it’s the fact that they were $30 sixsixones and I rode the fuck out of them playing polo & practically riding brakeless (I do have a brake I just rarely use it(until now)(nested parenthesis rule)). Recommendations for how to glue a sole back on? If you say shoe goo I will hunt you down and cut you into so many pieces dogs will eat you before they find the body. Recommend a real solution. Shoe goo is worthless.
Except ipath doesn’t make any slim shoes, they’re all chunk y as hell.
That’s my only beef.
Great skate shoes otherwise even if they do wear out a little fast.
I am planning on getting a good clipless combo when I can afford to. I’m lusting after a pair of dominators so you can imagine, that might take a while. In the meantime I need new sneakers anyway and would like something bike-friendly.
