Yes. It’s dim and it takes a while to charge the supercap, but I’ve got a couple of them and they’re good enough to put on the machines I’m building for other people (after converting them to a hanging mount)

What sucked about them for you?
Leaning towards the trelock stuff for $10 more for the set. The rear has the brake light and stand light. I could afford to get a nicer front light too. I think my budget is $50.
Fenders, and dynamo shit are going to end up costing more than the bike.
Starting to think I’ll just pull a Cyo off of another bike for this thing to save myself some money. There’s already a spare rear light in the bin.
Hopefully a dyno hub (and spokes and nipples) and fenders and that will be it*.
* when is it ever, tho?

Didn’t seem like I was getting anywhere near 40lum and was v v flickery even at decent speed. Might have gotten a dud, I’m sure qc is suboptimal

Yeah, that doesn’t sound (the flickery part) at all like either of the ones I’ve got at home. I think mine stop flickering at ~4mph?
just get a Cyo Premium for 40 euro
they’re the best all-rounder by far with zero annoyances
and cost only $10-15 more than any of the the cheapdick options that have something going for them, but all still have something obnoxious
even the fancypants ones have real world downsides that the Cyo avoids: the Edelux + IQ-x have mediocre standlights, and the Luxos U is huge and vulnerable to water/weirdness
Where are they €40? And does this include shipping? The nice thing about the foxeye units is that they are incredibly easy to modify into a hanging lamp, and it doesn’t hurt that they are US$20.5 shipped (eventually) to my door.
My CYO premium flickers a lot at low speed like when riding with wife hauling kiddo that doesn’t like to go fast. I wish I had just ponied up for another luxos
Luxos U is the only good light that’s 100% flicker-free at low/no speed
the Cyo Premium on my Time had its standlight fail sometime after PBP so now it just goes straight to black when the wheel stops moving, after 6 years or so

I mean thats almost twice as expensive as the one I got but if I end up riding this bike a lot I would upgrade without hesitation.
I wish the 200 dollar katu had disk brakes

I do too. I talked myself into not caring because we were fine for a long time without disks on everything.
I wanna build up it up as an e cargo thing which makes me want at least one disk
