OMG those cranks! Wherever did you find them?

Jealous of dynohub too.

are they PURP LANO mavic starfish cranks?

They were old scuffed up Mavic 631 that I gave to a friend for anodizing practice a year or two ago, that ended up getting done during coronaboredoms

I have a whole collection of matching chainrings for them in a range of sizes that I bought from a USCF coach, but can’t find them right now so it’s a 53t on there. Q-factor is tight enough for heel clearance to potentially become a problem.

It came missing a rear NDS spoke with low tension everywhere. Getting the new spoke into the rear was enough of a pain but tensioning up the front with the large flange dyno was worse!

I just re-acquired a Sundeal and was trying to decide if I should leave it alone or ball hard. You leave me no choice.

I gotta trim a ton off the hoses and shift housing, way way too long even with the aggressive sweep Dimension Urban Cruiser Bars (600mm x 50 deg Sweep x 70 Rise)

the 130mm stem is right inside of what would get in the way of the cargo envelope

The BOX 8s clutch is pretty stiff, not sure if that’s about their design or using it with a giant chainring. Sighting down the dangler I think you could get away with a more normal 11s drivetrain, at least through 42t if not bigger.

I thought the Box clutch was adjustable, but that must just be the higher end group or whatever group was in the review I read.

The clutch on my 11s is super tight too. As far as I know it’s not adjustable and there’s no way to turn it off.

The colors they picked for the Katu frames really take well to all sorts of fun accent colors

What saddle is that?

How does tall ass Fred always manage to find the perfect fit on these tiny wheeled bikes. Swift of theseus, now this. Boss build.

it’s another Berthoud Aspin I should have started breaking in a long time ago

Here’s what the Swift of Theseus looks like these days:

I loaned it back to the guy who had the xxxtra-long steel middle section built by R&E, and he’s put a dynamo setup on it

those cantis are an abomination

57mm reach calipers could’ve worked back then, u-brakes would’ve been period too

But think of the cable housing weight the cantis save
