Not exactly the same but I loved riding my xtracycle in sloppy conditions. The extra long wheelbase made it feel very stable and fun. Riding my regular bike without studs was pretty nerve wracking.
i found it ok - I commuted 2 winters on it
When it’s unloaded the front wheel has a tendency to slip out, but the studded tire up front helps with that.
I did low-side / slide-out on some leaves in the park one fall, but it had just rained and I was riding like a jackass.
I was pretty surprised at how easy the Bullitt handles on snow and ice without studded tires. It’s not magic, but the long wheelbase and setback from the front wheel adds a lot of stability on slippery stuff.
SundealshartQ: where did these come from again?
Nashbar
I have one (partial traded from Marley with my Mercier Nano). Probably not going to be ridden much in the coming months.
Holler if you want it. New unmodified (though I also have a bunch of upgrade parts I never put on like SLX hydro brakes and such).
shit, post-breakup nashbar doesn’t have that carbon disc 1" fork anymore
guess the disc fixie will continue to not happen for me
orc might make you one in steel if you promise to never ride it
Or write
prototype won’t sue
On it
Though the proper wording is either “PROTOTYPE: DO NOT RIDE” or “NOT FOR EXTERNAL USE”.
can you get little steel letters and metal glue them on without fucking up the “not falling apart part of the fork?
also, yes. internal use only
i would love to purchase and ride a bicycle named the “DO NOT RIDE” from the brand “PROTOTYPE”
especially if they perfectly mimicked the graphics pattern on a cannondale or specialized or something
Featuring the NOT FOR EXTERNAL USE fork
Where’s the next Sundeal?
on one hand, much nicer spec and closer to what’s i would bring the cost of a sundeal to. on the other hand, would still want to upgrade to clutch 1x. on the third hand- “frequently bought together” has me lollin’. like how often are people buying these and putting ISM saddles on them?
That’s over $500 shipped. Naw dawg.
Not as IsunDeal, but not a bad bike for bucks. Has a double and wet brakes
I’m figuring out a build for a very small person. If anyone on the east coast/NYC area has one of these collecting dust, I’m interested.
(or Xootr Swift, ~13in rigid mtb, etc)
