I modified the same kind of rack for use on 20" wheels by cutting down the black section of stays and drilling new holes.
Oh yeah! I was trying to figure out a way to trim the legs. But then the issue is that the rack starts to bump the head tube. That’s why I want to trim part of the rack deck.
Could you flip the upper rack stays so that it sits lower than the fork crown hole? What about the bracket, can it flip over too?
On a separate note, I had the weld break on my rack, right where the longer, lower stays are welded to the deck. I fixed it with a zip tie but I’d be wary of cutting off / weakening any part of the rack What about moving the basket to the front edge and having the little stash spot behind the basket. Good place for a feedbag
I’ll play around with it. Will post if I make any progress
I grew up a couple blocks away from there at 17th & Riggs
nice that Dupont Circle is still a hangout spot for messengers
It is very much still the spot to chill and central to solid income opportunities.
Kinda really like this
@BicyclePears can try to make a joke out of it but its the most important cycling innovation since the second version of the sundeal
I am buying one
why would i try when its existence does that for me?
That thing is awesome! Bike Friday rules in general. I want a Haul-A-Day so bad!
We run the haul A day whoopee doo bars on the salsa blackborrow since no one makes a rear kid rail handle bar thing on the back for that bike it’s nice. I e heard mixed things about the haul a day. Mostly that it’s pretty flexy since it just has one tube instead of a top and down tube so the whole thing can kinda twist especially if you have a couple kids on the back.
ok so now that i fly to boston once a month for 3 days…why would i not buy a bike friday or some other folder? i feel like i could take transit to my hotel and then bike friday all about wherever i please for the duration, and then transit back to the airport.
that little bike friday that fits in a backpack. it’s 20 pounds. i don’t need to lock up at the office. i get free checked bags on airplanes.
You should absolutely get a BF or a Bropton.
this would save me the chore of walking from the train to the hotel and from the hotel to the office and such
and then i could ride my own brompton or whatever over to play squash with my friend instead of a bikeshare bike
and would obviously be way more fun
Use that as an excuse to buy a Ti Brompy
this is a great idea
and might be a work expense???
