There is approximately 25cm from the fork eyelet to the bottom of the clearance limiting arch. It’s a strange rack, sits a bit too high on most mid fork eyelets that I’ve seen but is perfect on this odd fork.
The little cross brace inside the pouch is a super nice design. Perfectly spaced for the eyelets. With a nice boss to plug into the holes and a groove in the back for the shock cord to lay in. V. Nice job sir!
I got tired of seeing people unsuccessfully looking for track axles for older zipp discs on all the track groups/sub forums I frequent so I started making them. Hopefully this is the last batch for a while… I’ve been asking a fair price for them but I also like my free time.
Here’s the three I’m working on now after machining the main features.
Brand new? Maybe $500 for China carbon, $1000-1500 For a ffwd, hed or something. Zipp and campy are $2000+.
I think $300 is probably the point at which someone is more likely to sell their wheel and buy another used one that has the axle or takes one that is still available.
I just checked and a Zipp track axle for the 11s hub is $160-180 depending on what seller. I’ll probably bump it to that next time around.
asking 200 would help balance supply and demand. maybe you like your free time less when it’s less close to free and maybe less of it gets sold to the track nerds when it costs more. win win. except for the track nerds, they don’t win as much (but they still win a little, as a treat)
Man this is the way to think about it. I struggle with this myself because while I like making stuff, I am reluctant to make a business and always feel like I’m charging too much.
