love that bike. how much was it again?

With shipping it was $410 for the frame. Fork is a $60 old stock Vassago Fisticuffs. Think they’ve raised their prices a bit since but not by much.

I really suck at taking pictures while riding…

Love this route!

I gotta figure out a better way to the north branch trail from my place, Howard and Oakton suck. Ideally I’ll hit the trail at Dempster so maybe I’ll try that after work today.

I dont take photos when I ride “road” or “gravel” bikes because I am focused too much on riding.
On the trails I stop a lot because I’m lost or my heart rate is near death so…

local loop and some sanding it

If you figure it out let me know! Every route I’ve ever ridden from the river to Evanston has been 70% terrifying stroads.

Riding from Evanston or Wilmette is better, but yea.

The southern end by like Dempster I think is the best section of trail. I wanna go back with a shovel and the mtb.

Think I might sell my gravel bike in the coming weeks. SBT GRVL was a lot of fun. But, every other race I’ve done locally had a shitload of climbing and sucked for my fat ass. Or, maybe I’ll keep it a bit longer and do a few CX races.

On the flipside, I love the Switchblade that I bought like a month ago. That bike sparks joy.

^ Those are from this last weekend’s trip to Schweitzer. Sandpoint, ID.

how was the lift access situation?

the trails mostly fun for your bike?

That Pivot looks like a great bike.

Yeah, I think the lift ticket was like $40 and ran from 11am to 5pm. Did five runs and was trashed. All the advanced/black diamond trails were fun for me. Though, I skipped a few features. Didn’t think anything was particularly chunky, at least not compared to your normal Front Range mountain biking. Just steep.

Lot of good riding around Sandpoint.

Shakedown ride today, feels like this bike was a good decision. Gotta futz around with tire pressure, 40 psi was too darn high. Not sure what expectations of supple I should have for these Maxxis though. This handlebar isn’t quite giving me it either, the drops are a little short. Crushed the greenway and handled green singletrack like the 90’s MTB’s some dudes say gravel bikes are.
