January was pretty much a wash for riding due to rain and getting sick, but today it was 70 degrees!
Went on a slow spin on my road bike and climbed a bit on our local mountain.
This curve never gets old:

The sun came out today for the first time in what feels like months so I took a lap around the graveyard on my way home from work. I stopped to enjoy some back medicine and this coyote appeared about five feet from me. She was totally calm and non threatening. She just sat there for a little while, peed, caught sight of something and trotted off. It’s amazing that this graveyard in the middle of the city with the Red Line roaring past supports a population of large wild dogs and they’re totally chill dudes!
i went for a ride today and here are some photos

Did somebody put that stuff there to prevent people from crashing out on the ice?
I highly doubt it.
This is a new protected bike lane on the south side of denver, on an extremely dangerous road. I’m pretty sure it’s just there to get out bike lane mileage numbers up. Trash pickup is on the street so everyone just puts their bins in the lane and then leaves them there, and the bike lane immediately ends and dumps you out onto a high traffic street where everyone drives 60 (the speed limit is 25)
I rode it once just to see and I will be avoiding it like the plague going forward.
Concrete jungle, wet street, tomato!
I’m trying a new thing where I ride up Pilot Butte at least twice during the week. It’s only 6 miles or so round trip from my door. All flat but for the climb itself which is a bit over one mile at 7.8% avg.
On nights I’m not pressed for time it will be fun to putz around town for more miles after the climb.
I am very slow, but that means a great 360 view of town as I climb.
^ I love Bend.
Took a break from work and went for a bicycle ride yesterday afternoon. Got to take advantage of 60f in February. On the whole, Denver winter isn’t too bad.
Sure the groomed trails are fine, but crust is so much fun!
Weird weather so far this winter left today with a mega sturdy top layer, I could ride wherever I wanted at will, and had more climbing and sidehill traction than I’ve ever experienced. Zero times breaking through, even on tire-width narrows between tree wells.
sup home depot buddy
tarck won’t let me upload the photo on mobile but kid is starting to develop some confidence with the hammer. i love these workshops even if they’re just putting 12 fasteners in a kit and painting it.
not sure if it’s the same at your store but the staff who work it at my store are definitely upper level office heads who absolutely love taking a fucking break and interacting with kids
Ours is a MAYBE 22 year old Latin x kid who dresses up in a nice shirt/watch/boots/ with suspenders and a big ol’ tool holster thing. It’s cute.
It’s fun.
