You can hit Neversink from the Exeter Scenic trail on the North side of the river. If starting out on the Thun Trail, South side of river, you can get across at Gibraltar Road to pick up EST.
From the city side 9th Street will get you to a trailhead.

4 hours of road biking today.
I listened to a lot of power metal. It was a nice time.
Once a month or so I find a smashed watermelon in this general area.

A long weekend, potential of rainfall and a clash with an event elsewhere meant the numbers at the Urban Grinduro were down about half this year. Around 25 folks turned up, 2 of the nutters on DIY cargo bikes. Riding grade 3 to 4 trails. One of the trail systems was pretty wet as it had been raining for days but nothing too dire. I did a pretty shitty job of taking pix. 40 something kms and 1200 m vert give or take.

I get that. I’ve been actually quite surprised at how many Harris signs I’ve seen around here. I mean you get out in to the sticks and it’s all Trump but those signs and flags and banners are up year round anyways.
It’s road riding only down here for at least a few more months I imagine as folks are still dealing with more important cleanup work.

The weather and vibes were immaculate.
At least 10mm should be added to any route specific tire width recommendations Ron makes.
I guess I need a wider tire drop bar bike.

Riding at elevation is really hard. Thought this ride would be a nice entry to the week but 25mi/2.3k gain kicked my ass. At least I got a KOM.

Red vs green chile sauce is taken very seriously in that region.
There is one within walking distance of the Airbnb. But this is a car centric hell hole so I’m not walking.
We had a couple hours to kill before we could check into our Kingston Airbnb so I did that thing where you have Trailforks, Google Maps, and RidewithGPS open and I managed to come up with a super rad lil 10 mile ATB lap. Perfect mix of pavement, dirt roads, decommissioned bumpy roads, and east coast ch0nky singletrack.

Not acclimated you’re down about 15% on power at 7k ft. It’s no joke. Once you get used to it you get a bit back, but you just can’t ride as hard. Drink lots of water!
