I mean, nothing really “worked” I was wet…
The key element here though where the Patagonia mountain bike waterproof pants.
I had old Shimano waterproof shoes, and they leaked… My buddy had new Shimano waterproof shoes and they did not leak.

The shake dry jacket is more or less magic… Especially when you are running or road riding fast enough to get some airflow across it. But this was 100% humidity the whole time in a cloud… There wasn’t going to be any wicking of anything… I actually probably would’ve been better with a less breathable rain jacket that was a touch warmer.

Definitely a day to just plan to be wet to the skin the whole time, I think ideally waterproof pants, and like a Pendleton style wool shirt would have done excellent.

Yeah I’d say wool base layer and keep extremities warm. Wish we could ride off road in the wet lol. I’ve done way too many dumb weather road miles.

Is that 1.1mi or .11mi?

The second one. I ain’t missing coffee and breakfast.

These are pretty damn great. I got a pair from Kyle. And I should have purchased another at a greater discount before xmas, but watching money. Yesterday I got back, and just sprayed myself off; it was pretty rad.
Haven’t done too many full rainy days. Yesterday was fog to mist and some precip, but lots of puddles.
Hoping for some drier stuff later this week. Today we had ‘abundant sun’ and it was amazing to see, but sup said it was obviously still real wet out there.
I like that they are tall enough for me at 6’2", and the 5.10 goretex shoes have been pretty solid so far. Haven’t really tried to step into too much water in them. I hear the shimanos are really nice, too.

Went out for a lil singlesp00din and the sun even came out for like 3 minutes for the first time in weeks.

It’s been unseasonably nice out. Finally was able to get a ride in.

Drank a pint of sugary milk for some reason.

Pretty sure this has been covered before but what bars are those? Thinking about slapping something fun on my SS whenever I decide to pull it out of my buddy’s garage.

I asked Doom to make me an 800mm clone of the Doom x Tracker bars. I ended up cutting them down to, uh, like 770mm. It turns out the clamp area isn’t wide enough to play nice with my Buffalo bag so that’s a little bit of a bummer but it’s not the end of the world.

Took a spin around the grave yard on my way to the pottery studio. Beautiful winter light.

Love these little turtles that are the feet of the entry arch.

Is that the graveyard with the Louis Sullivan-designed headstone? Such a cool place

edit: it probably has Louis Sullivan’s actual headstone lol

Yeah, Graceland Cemetary. It has both grand, Sullivan designed tombs as well as Sullivan’s own modest headstone.

Very different vibe this morning.

Last night the packed track was consolidated and just fun as heck. Pics don’t quite capture the swoopy pump-track in the woods on snow vibe.

This big sweeper with firm berm was also excellent.

Took the long way in this morning on my commute. Found out my 22/34 low gear was still too tall for a 28 minute 14 percent climb. I need to do more of this. If only summer was here.

Be careful what you wish for. 5am commute was 22c and 95% humidity. Everything soaked through by the time I got to work. Actually looking forward to Autumn.

I can totally understand that. I cant work out the difference tween Aus an NZ tho. I never even got a sweat at 65-85 humidity and 26 degrees in Aus on a ride, but commuting home last week at 19 degrees and I was a sweaty mess. Bizzare. Maybe it was cos riding with whanau.
