chicago --> seattle
Sheeyit, me too!
I was born in Omaha (but move to Missouri before I was a year old)
Anyways, back on track:
Wife and babby are still in Wisconsin so I took the ferry across the sound and rode my bike:
Portland fuckin native here!
And by here I unfortunately mean Yakima, where we moved to at the start of the month
You should go check out Yakima Canyon. It’s really cool.
First 200k in 9 months, and the born-again Trek was ready for it. I, on the other hand, was not; it took me 10 hours to do this loop, and I can only blame 40 minutes on flats (I’d let the sealant in the rear Confrerie run low, so when I got a puncture on Pipeline Road it used up all of the sealant sealing the hole (as well as spraying my butt and taillight with latex, so now I have to relocated the taillight out of the line of fire), which forced me to put a tube in to get home. And OF COURSE that tube ate a michelin wire 40 miles down the line when I was trying to race an Amtrak train to a good photospot.)
Did it once already – very sweet road, but I was on the verge of heat exhaustion. Figured 54oz of sports drink would be OK for 27 miles of mostly downhill road without services… Nop.

Dema style. Flickr app can kiss my butthole. Get me into photo hosting that does not suck.
I went for a ride to Rockaway beach yesterday… and this fucking happened halfway there.

Had a spare tube, but no spare tire, so did the walk of shame to the closest bike shop in the middle of fucking nowhere, bought a cheapo CST tire, then resumed.

It’s no BLL, but it did the job.

Aberdeen, Scotland>Sheffield,England>Orlando>Rochester,ny>seatlle
Do I win?
That’s where I was born / grew up. I have no idea what you’re talking about though. Apparently I need to do some research![/quote]
Sorry it was Olean,NY not Elmira.

Czech Republic -> Austria -> Yugoslavia -> Boise -> Los Angeles -> San Diego -> Boise -> Seattle -> Boise
Boise 3 times? Wtf. One more attempt to move away from here for good coming up next month
Eric I lived in seattle and then Redmond before Everett.
Petr w ins though
I have the “grew up in city and hate it when people from suburb near city claim to be from city” chip on my shoulder. Ignore the pedantry. Petr definitely wins, though I’m not sure Boise is in the PNW.
I still cling to my 3 years on Capitol Hill for PNW cred. Taking it next level with the France move next month. I will be posting in this thread a lot I think.
I grew up here: Google Maps
as far as young people claiming to be “from DC” I’m outnumbered by motherfuckers from the exurbs 1000:1
i’m STL -> NYC (st louis suburbs i guess, to avoid eric’s shoulder chip)
is this the ‘what are all the places you have ever lived’ thread?
if so, california, and always within an hour and a half of where i was born.
