98% sure I heard someone at polo joking around about party fouls.
I dont think hes a memeber here and chances are he was referencing something else.
i never called it a fixee. it just sounds stupid.
and i never rode a track bike on the streets. road geometry is much more comfortable. track ends do not a track bike make anyway.
so there.
fixy is the best way to do it.
WORDS make me ANGRY
words MAKE ME angry
i still say it, but only when referring to a janky conversion.
I only say it when I have hands free for air quotes. Everyone loves air quotes.
The only thing more infuriating than fixy is people who say “fixte” ala “mixte”… PITD for real.
Tarck bieks
should have just typed fixie, word filter be damned. I’ve never really called bikes a fixie, even before I really knew what was what. I also find the word filter comical, and really want to believe someone is upset by it.
I want to believe so bad.
I don’t say “fixee” or “fixed gear”, I just scream “LEEEEROOOYYYY JEEEEEEEEENKINSSS!!!”
Works for me.
I refer to my bikes by color:
red bike
blue bike
pink bike
yellow bike
none of this take a word and add “ie” bullshit
Least I got chikin.
OP if you had made your case without calling us all douchebags and such, maybe I’d take you seriously. But with all the vitriol in your post, it’s clear the only reason you are arguing this point is because you are doing the exact same thing you are accusing us of, except one-upping us, and it makes you look like a plus-one asshole. Have fun out there on the cutting edge, man.
whats with using the fucking italics and exclamation points???
Fixed gear has as many syllables as fixee or fixie sooooo why not opt for the proper term?
And anyway, every hobby, vocation, sport, etc. has it’s own lexicon, including words that newjacks use and old hands, or just people who have taken time to research the subject, don’t.
i havent seen people having a problem with “roadie” on here when referring to a road bike, even their own.
Them otha boys don’t know how to act
I think you’re special what’s behind yo back?
