Is there a wheelbuilding thread yet?

Bought some DA track hubs. How deep should I go with the rims?

Or medium deep?

Or just get Open pros?

If I’m spending $500 on rims they’re not going on a shitty fixie

$300, right? wait oh no they got way pricier.

yeah probably I’d give that a miss. Uh, back to the trusty DT 460?

See anything you like? I can get them in the mail Monday.

Last spokes I ordered were from these guys:

These dudes are a little cheaper, though:

Think I could get away with 262 on the DS even though the measurement is 261.4?

Yup

lol is this your personal stockpile?

No-but-yes. It was a friend’s stockpile, I bought it from him.

Lots of deadender sizes (or deep rim sizes I guess).

Alright I’m going with deep bois. SL42s are lighter but narrow…going with heavier but less narrow eeros. DT champs w Squorx nips.

3x both or radial front?

Those rims are stiff AF (in a good way). I have some 16-hole ones that feel great and the weight was never noticeable.

I would match the lacing between the front and rear myself. 3x for low flange, 2x for high flange (for no other reason than it looks better shartmo)

If the hubs are used, I think the general wisdom is to lace them up how they were previously… not sure if it’s strictly necessary but seems like a good practice.

My experience with Squorx was not good.

I built one set of wheels with squorx and wouldn’t do it again.

same

Maybe I’ll reconsider…was thinking Squorx would be easier to built a deeper rims

I like squorx. multiple sets very happy fwiw

I found that they rounded really easily
