If you’re sellin’ rims, I’ll take the 32s.
Im too far removed from building anything to dibs anything.
I’ll take the 28h wide boy? Thaaaanks
lemme check if the ERD on these would match another project first
but I could prob send a rim box to Chicago for you and @Face together?
That would work for me!
Bought these 650 Stans Arch EX rims from Jimmy for a yet to be determined project. My 650b Jamis touring bike has a silver and red dynamo wheelset that matches the frame. My 650b bassi hogs back has an all black dynamo wheelset but the frame does have some yellow highlights but I went all teal with the racks and bottle cages. Guess that only leaves my 650b Black Mountain Road+, which has a Pacenti Forza non-dynamo wheel build. I figure I’d go for a dynamo build. Really like my White Industries rear hub on the Bassi but not sure I want to drop that $. Also wondering if I should go matchy-matchy and get all gold spokes or not.
They’d look great on the BMC. Black hubs and spokes. Too much gold ends up almost-but-not-quite matching IMO. On the BMC you could easily add gold anno chainring bolts, headset, post clamp if you want and still not be going overboard.
Next dither question - black or tan walls?
black tire sidwalls
the rims would disappear into low-contrast with tan sidewalls
gold aluminum anodizing is really had to match, and the anodized SON dynohub option is straight up orange
could do black hubs, silver spokes, black nipples to boost the flashiness
Now I’m having some strong regrets that I didn’t buy these, but I’m glad you did smitty, another vote for the purp BMC.
What lengths do I buy?
161 and 162, right?
Or should I scrap these measurements and build up this hookless carbon 26” rim that @halbritt gave me years ago.
You should definitely build those.
But for a cargo bike though?
Perfect. They’re extra heavy duty and were intended for a dirt jump bike.
If it were my bike, I’d do it, but I’d rather play it safe with Ash’s first cargo.
If/when my current bullitt rear breaks, I’ll build one of these for it.
Are they disc only?
Yeah, hookless and disk only.
Or, hear me out, coaster brake.
Anyone got an experience with those Velo Orange convertible disc hubs? I see one is on sale…
Was considering a Bitex 106r or DT Swiss 350 alternatively.
while we love igor and im sure those hubs are great, i can’t recommend a single bike part harder than the dt350. it is the platonic ideal of a good bike part atmo
