Well now I’ve seen it all

the DH-T670 is solid also. Basically the same hub; I think the 3n80 Ultegrish version had a lighter AL axle; the LX one is steel.
is this a bicycle for someone who wants a bicycle that is the worst suited to all possible conditions?
There are 2 of these in my neighborhood…and both dudes wear newsboy caps when they ride too.
Bet it wheelies nice
You could fit 3 triangular frame bags in that thing.
Maybe a 4th under the saddle but that one might be called a saddle bag?
Oh, god, that thing would be terrifying to ride up a steep ramp.
It looks like it’s got something over 70mm rake, too. I wonder if the owner has ever considered loaning it to a PNW randonerd for a series.
i’ve never seen one of those before
and then saw one on my way home like an hour ago
given who’s flickr that is, it’ll likely be for sale on Craigslist in another few months
dude has owned at least a dozen Kogswell P/Rs alone, at least three versions of every production Rawland, and multiple of every 700D GT (including the tandem model!)
I once bought a frame from him off CL and sold it back to him in under a year. I think it was up for sale again a year later.
TIL that Lezyne has StVZO battery lights. Don’t know if they sell them here in the 'states, though.
The best thing about this bike is that it was made so we can make fun of it on the internet.
TC: There’s this little voice in my head that keeps saying “you should make a racing Pedersen mini-velo.”
I can practically hear @jimmythefly 's little heart beating faster at the mere mention of it.
Do eiit!
And yeah, rcnute goes through a lot of bikes, I’ve been a buyer/seller multiple times with him. Dude likes dithering with bikes, can’t fault him for that.
I think he’s had only one Jones, though has had at least one other low- production rigid plus bike.
Did a night ride yesterday with some friends outside of Berlin (farmland and forest), so very little ambient light.
Lights:
- IQ-X (under rack mount)
- Edelux (hangy mount on midfork eyelet)
- Eyc (under rack mount)
My totally non scientific results:
- Eyc is only for commuting in the city
- IQ-X was the widest and by far the brightest, but it wasn’t consistent across the beam - had some obvious hot/cold spots
- Edelux had a nice long consistent pattern, no obvious hot/cold spots ( other than the wheel shadow due to the fork eyelet mount). Definitely not as bright as IQ-X, but looked more “natural” if that makes sense
I’m tempted by the Edelux…but even at Euro prices it’s still 70€ vs 140€, so will probably end up with IQ-X to replace my baroque CyoPremiun
Isn’t the Edelux just a Cyo with an aluminum case on it or has that changed?
Yeah, my understanding is that edelux 2 == Cyo Premium with improved case. To me the beam looked a little longer than my Cyo, but just going by memory was not side-by-side
Only reason i am considering it was because the light seemed much more evenly distributed than IQ-X…and my Cyo broke after 4 months
