the text also does not come off with acetone…
I’d be interested in how quickly the TEST rubs off with normal wear.
Given my experience with my normal C17, I am guessing it wears your ass off before it wears the text off
A weird C19 for $65 wouldn’t be a bad upgrade for my weird giant basket hybrid tho. Wouldn’t be any worse that the awful-looking Planet Bike ARS that’s been on there for like 5 years
edit: fuck it, I bought a C19. Had to know
This has been me a bunch of times. I even stopped once so a guy could write down the names of dynamo hubs to research.
Bought some of those test Cambiums. I guess it’s laffs when it’s parked but riding I won’t see it, won’t GAF.
Last night I was getting my bike ready to ride today and when I spun the wheel nothing happened. I checked all the connections and bupkiss, the hub ain’t putting out power. I stuck a different wheel in the fame and everything works fine.
So now I have a brand new wheel with a dead ass SP in it fml.
Dang Rusty. I’m sorry to hear it. I’m done with SP. It’s not worth it anymore.
It’s giving me pause too, but as a contrastive anecdote, my sp plx8 or whatever has a few thousand miles, including long days of sustained riding and a fair bit of wet slop weather, and is working fine.
I fully realize that I’m jinxing myself super hard, but I don’t care; my life has led me to a point where I’m probably building two 20” dyno wheels this fall, rebuilding a 700c aero number is just more ridiculous bike work
The dead hub in question has a few thousand miles on it and almost all of them were with the hub rotating opposite of the arrows printed on the shell because the wire guides on my Boulder fork were on the nds for some damn reason.
So really, it’s probably my fault.
did you spin it backwards to see if it works that way
Reverse electricity hub is a motor. It’s how rusty does so many miles.
the light gathers energy from the sun to power the assist
Anyone hear anything about that Shimano through axle dyno? Wondering if I should start planning a build around getting one in the next few months.
yeah we’ve talked about this, but for it to really work your bike needs a left-side drivetrain so that the polarity of the hubs reverses
just looked at the euro retailers and didn’t see any. i’m waiting on it, too.
Rose has it listed, 2 week lead time which makes me think they won’t have it any time soon.
Yes, I believe he did.
I’m looking for the Shimanoest and the through axles dyno hub.
Ok, what non-dick dynamo should I get to replace my dead ass SP?
Higher-end shimano. 3n80 or whatever the current incarnation of that model is.
