I feel like hanging is the superior orientation for staying in place but it also conflicts with handlebar bags

that looks really good

wheel shadow but also pretty kewl unless you’re my ex and you’re locking your bike up and leave your expensive new light on this and someone unscrews the whole thing and leaves.

good solution, though instead of $30 Paul tax I’ll probably diy something

$8. There’s a hole inside the cylinder as well for mounting straight on as well.

lol I just checked my email to see how much I paid for it in holy shit 2011 and it was a much more reasonable $18 then. But it was not ano. I hate the kids. Get off my lawn, etc.

Didn’t @DDYTDY do a run of something similar years ago?

Star nut and a cut off section of steer tube.

Bonus for carbon.

Definitely made a few of these. Use a King top cap for MUSA cred.

Olight rn1500 is a beast

here’s a StVZO battery light for hangy-jawn mounting

they even list the output in lumens to untwist Heath’s artisanal underwear

Ooooh.

My main complaint with the Olight RN1500 is the lack of hangy-jawn mounting. Otherwise it’s great, if you don’t need an extra sharp cutoff.

Can vouch for this. Meant to post a review, but this is probably the best value light on the market.

And it keeps popping up on deals

Anyone given that TAF Lezyne StVZO battery light a proper test yet?

Oh yeah, forgot to say anything. I did a quick one mile ride around the neighborhood with the Hecto 40 and 65. The beam seems decent on both, lots of near field light, maybe not as wide as I’d like further out. I didn’t compare either to the Cyo Premium on the bike (it was off).

The 40 has two modes. The low is low and I wouldn’t want to have to rely on it to see things. The high is better and probably the minimum I’d want to rely on. The 65 has three modes. The low and medium seem the same as the 40, with a brighter high mode.

I want to do some longer rides and compare them to the Cyo, and the L&M Urban, but it’s cold now and motivation is low.

Thanks!

Also, the little half-round bar mounting bit comes off the 65 and both lights have the same mount underneath. Bummer is that bit doesn’t seem to be available to purchase as a spare.

Edit - You’ll get some big basket vibes shadow like @johnasavoia posted somewhere else recently.
