Serious FOMO over here. When one of yous is done with your set I’ll need to buy them just for the experience.

They’re eventually gonna get passed around like sundeals.

somebody almost certainly lost their job over these and i just love them

the only thing that makes sense is that some precision diecasting company gave them an incredible deal on the tooling

This industrial design article was linked in the used shop listing from the top of the thread. No production details but some about the design process:

Flippazz, baybee!

I suspected they were featured in iD magazine. I’m not sure I can get myself to use them, they’re objet d’art of the blobular CAD surfacing era.

So I looked at the original listing, and it’s even weirder: I guess they came with clear covers at some point?

ETA: I feel like I should put Oakley stickers on them?

Now I know why all those OTB myths about using the front brake started - people were trying to observe the amazingly well designed and proudly displayed gear mechanism that sits at the heart of the SRAM Two-Axis Brake Levers while they were riding.

it’s probably due to the short kids’ bike wheelbase and being a newer rider, but my daughter has nearly OTBed a few times from front brake death grip
