Metal or plastic toe clips

man up and cage up when practicing your silly tricks.

Yes. I wear a 13 as well and the Sunlite plastic clips I used were a large and fit my foot perfect.

See.

Metal clips may scrape. But it gives me an excuse to yell SKRAAAAAPERRR BIIIIIKEEEE when it happens

Those are the same ones I had when I first got my bike.

I tihnk they work great and have held up well. Those straps are stretched to shit though and need replacing. Won’t be for a while though I put ATAC’s on my bike and whenever I build up a beater, it’s getting the clips/straps.

But–but it tastes so, so sweet!

the helvetica kills me. i’m changing this shit to Utopia or garamond.

Nice, those clips look like they would work well for me. I’ll keep my eyes open.

Most shops should carry them. They’re like 10 bucks.

Zombie, I have a set you can have for the cost of shipping, but it would probably cost you as much to just buy them.

Bike too small, bars too low, elbows locked, seat too far forward, no room for fenders, tires too skinny—whatʼs the point?

Yup.

When I used singles the annoying thing was my toes would slide left/right with ease and I was always tightening for shit to get loose again rather quickly. The front/lower strap ceases this movement as well as adding some downward pressure. This isn’t the case for just my setup but for any dual strap set up from what I can tell.

The back strap does the work keeping your foot down and in the cage, the front strap does the work of keeping your foot straight. When it comes down to a time where you need to pull up for a skid/skip/bunny hop/etc the front strap takes stress off the rear one.

Going by old cycling pictures, there was a long time before double straps where thought of/used commonly. And even then, I think they’re only most useful for a track bike (MTB maybe?).

Still guzzling… I especially like the nod to tarck in encouraging the use of “bare bars” on page 32.
