Woooooow
Tc might get for sw8 skids
God damn it I love this place so much.
i had a dream last night i had a lightweight fastbike with fat 650bs
and now i want to make that fop dream a reality
what would it do better than your other bikes?
it would weigh less and carry less and not have fenders.
i mean, i could always build up weight weenie wheels for my other bikes but im not sure it’s ok to have 24h disc wheels? or is it?
Paging Ferg to the badass lightweight 650b road bike without fenders thread.

Would that bike

How big are you?
I did a set of 24 Reynolds XC/ATR rims to WI CLD hubs for a friend who hovers at about 185. He has had zero issues. Stiff ass crabon rim though.
But real talk though… some carbon all-road bike would probably get you 99% of the way there without any custom foppery. Some balleur 650b carbon wheels on something like a Diverge or GT Grade. If you’re talking light light… that probably means no need for front load lowtrailbro fork either right?
ugh, weight questions
right now i am at my heaviest at 185-190. i’ve been off my bike for a month (surgery) and havent had a significant ride since pbp. i fluctuate from 170-175 when im in shape. wife doesnt like it when i get that low because i am all legs. i’ll probably just build up some cx77s to whatever when i get the chance.
and really, if i can get a bike under 20# i’ll be happy. the rando rigs i spent most of last year on weigh 32 and 26lbs respectively - with fenders racks and lights
Aside from “thats boring and too easy” what would be the issue with an off the shelf carbon disc road/cx/gravel whatever bike with 650bs?
We looked at doing this on a Domane and a Crocket, and then a 2014 Crux, and none appeared to have the chainstay clearance to run a truly wide 650b tire. Otherwise, they would be rad for that purpose. A 650b Domane especially, that bike with 650b in the mid-30 range would rip.
tcx advanced can clear a 42 parimoto no problem.
Ps. Stay posted up on my tumblr this weekend
how fat do you want?
id do a felt f1 pr
clears compass 32s, would build up at like 18 pounds
This looks like a pretty legit budget choice.

70mm bb drop. BSA. No thru-axle. No idea how much tire it would clear though.
You guise are weird. Probably ride on butter soft roads and pristine gravel with your ginormous tires. No wonder everyone can bang out an 800K every weekend. It’s like a fucking rolling vacation with a pantry leading the constant stream of liquor down the road. Why not get greedy and source efficient light weight race bikes.
