I bought one of these when I was in Japan in 2003:
Mine was british racing green with cream fenders and black tires, cost me something like $250 in a big department store. I saw thousands of them and their 26" cousins on the streets, I took this pic a couple weeks before I bought mine.
Only modifications I made were the seatpost, saddle, and pedals. It was fun as hell to ride but shimmied easily if you spun out the 3-speed hub or coasted downhill over 20mph.
It got stolen on my birthday in 2005, I woke up and went outside to ride it and the fucklers had broken the bike rack.
They’re ok for tiny asian girls but I’m over 6’ tall and would look like a circus bear. 
atmo that’s ok of you have it just cos. i’m 6’3" and i still ride a 20" bmx bike.
A sol-sized mini velo would look like a rollerskate.
