Day 1 of my team’s 400 mile week challenge. I did 2 miles outside setting up a speed sensor and then 40 miles on the trainer. That was miserable.
Ouch : (
No, you did zero miles on the trainer ;).
Used to get that question in the bike mines from folx who had a Garmin and a powermeter but no wheel angular velocity measurement. They’d take their bike in for the winter and get weird/no speed readings on the trainer.
My rear wheel turned the equivalent number of times to equal 40.6miles at an average of 21.2mph. THERE.
Day 2: 50.8 miles worth of wheel revolutions on the trainer because I forgot my saddlebag at the shop.
i saw some guy on strava that would put in like 60 mile rides on the rollers…
except… he was averaging 30-35 mph. just like riding 300 mile weeks every week on the rollers in his office.
so i always thought that was cheating…
but, trainer prob more close to reality.
I wouldn’t trust roller millage. haha. no resistance.
The flywheel on my eMotion rollers starts to slip if I get around 25 mph.
I learned a long time ago that noodle-legging it on the rollers without resistance wasn’t doing me anyngood, however.
Was gonna break 60 miles into 2 parts. 40miles worth of wheel revolutions and then I was gonna take a break, cook dinner, etc. Did that, ate dinner, sat on the couch and a whole lot of nope happened.
I posted this in the HY/WTH thread, but I did 65 miles on the trainer last weekend. Using Zwift and chatting with my friend who was riding “with” me helped immensely, but it still sucked. Going back for more tomorrow.
I’m sitting at ~300mi for the week. Took today off from work and got in 102 miles. Stopped by my parent’s house for some distant porch hangs and to refill bottles. Now I’m hanging out, drinking pina coladas in the adult sized kiddie pool we bought.
Working at the shop tomorrow, but we’re starting at 8am vs 7am, so I’ll be able to hop on the trainer beforehand. Might just pull this 400 mile week off.
Out of curiosity, do cyclists organize their weeks M-Su or Su-Sa?
Mon-Sun
Agreed
Same
24 out at Red Rock before my shift at the shop this morning. Bailey wanted pizza for dinner and then I just finished 24 on the trainer. 75 tomorrow. After this week, I’ll never look at my trainer the same way.
I almost threw up twice.
Looking at a trainer has the same effect on me .
411 miles for the week. My teammate is breaking 800 right now.
78.5 miles this week
