Most comfortable saddle?

I’m in the market to buy a new saddle because mine is beat to hell and the rails are rusty. A few I was thinking about were: Fizik Arione, Selle Italia Flite, San Marco Regal, and the Specialized toupe. Any advice for which would be the best for a commuter (other suggestions are welcome too).

:colbert:

my fizik aliante is pretty effing nice.

i just bought a turbo today, and my ass has never been happier. you may not like them, but they were and are still popular for a good reason.

next on my list is a rolls or regal to try out.

I have to second the turbo- I rode both a fizik Pave and Aliante for quite some time, and liked em both. the problem was they just felt odd to me. comfortable, but not perfect. almost as if they both tried too hard to be different, and managed it at slight cost.

The turbo I got from my father’s old road bike circa 1995 is still the most comfortable of the saddles I have ridden, on par with a well broken in brooks. although some people hate both turbo’s and brooks saddles, so perhaps this is moot point. either way- the Fizik saddles are awesome for some, but nightmares for others. I would really recommend a test ride of them before committing, they seem to be very love/hate.

I’m with Jim. I have a couple Turbos and love them.

I LOVE my Brooks. I have the Imperial prototype, it my first brooks and I really cant believe how comfortable it is.

Is there anywhere to get turbos for less then like $130 from benscycle?

bike co-op?

i got flamed for paying more than a hundred for a turbo, but good luck finding one for less, unless you want some beat ass used saddle. before the shit talking starts, check ebay right now.

HA I paid 30 for my used one on ebay.

i bought mine this morning for $25. it’s a bit scuffed here and there, but i don’t care. $25 for a saddle is a price low enough that i won’t feel bad if i end up not liking it. i only wish it was white. black looks a bit out of place on my bike.

but new, they won’t be cheap. or rather, NOS. turbo’s haven’t been in production for a while have they?

note from self to other people… bright yellow Turbos bleed like crazy when they get wet…

that’s a good look running up the ass crack of a pair of shorts…

don’t mind me, I crapped my pants.

I love my buddies Selle San Marco Concor Comfort and I am pretty partial to the stock seat that comes on the Bianchi Pista but I’m a bigger guy so maybe I just like the padding LOL. I may get a Turbo to try out myself. I absolutely HATE my Selle Italia POS TriGel thingamabob… Taint Killer.

If you can find a fizik dolomiti grab it, i fucking loved mine but i think they stopped making it.

I just got a used turbo that is working out really well for me.

my new bike’ll have a fizike aliante on it and i can’t imagine it’ll be bad

I have a pretty new white one I’d trade for your black one depending on the condition.

can I give you some dorras for one?

I have a $30 Selle San Marco Ischia that I pulled out of a parts bin for $10. It’s good enough for the kind of riding I do. If I wear cycling shorts it’s actually quite nice. Saddles are like shoes to me: I should be investing more in them but I end up spending the money on the rest of my outfit (err…bike).
