Which Rapha did you guys get? The winter or knit hat. I think I like the looks of the knit, it seems like it would be warmer too (cos merino).
Got the black Rapha winter cap (not wool) on sale last year. Froze my ears one day and couldn’t find many places that would ship to Frrrrance.
It’s well constructed and it even fits my huge head comfortably; I don’t know whether it’s some crazy expectation I have with Rapha gear on account of their prices, but I’m not amazed. I haven’t sweated much in it though, and in that department it’s supposed to be better than your standard winter caps.
Oh, one thing is that the ear flap could go down further. My lobes be exposed.

My Sugoi cap is hot shit. I’ve only had the opportunity to use it a handful of times now, but it’s comfortable, fits great, and it warm as dog’s balls.

It looks kinda funny but damn is it warm and soft.
And yes, it has a stiff brim that you can flip up.
When I haven’t cut my hair for a while the Rapha turns it into a mullet and transforms me into some kind of roadie Mario Lemieux.

Yup. Got mine about a week ago and it’s very nice. Rode home from work last week in the freezing wind and my ears were nice and cozy.

I don’t normally enjoy a dog’s balls warmth (all my puppies have vaginas), but I would liken the feeling of the sugoi cap to head for your head, dome for your dome, a blowjob for your noggin.
Rode it in the rain immediately afterwards. I have some alpaca cannondale joint and my walz. The bill helped tremendously, the cap got moist but didn’t soak through. I’d still reccommend something over it for heavy rain. This is the only cap i will use for the next few months.
edit: the sugoi logo bugs me, but i’ll get over it. the merino makes it worth it.
So who has the octopus winter cap? Is that thicker wool scratchy? I’m a wool weenie and anything remotely scratchy won’t work with my neck. I usually need to go with merino, but I’d like to give my money to octopus if the wool is soft.

everyone around here is all about the octopus but i’m not seeing it. the build quality is just a level lower.

sugoi is prolly 20 microns, walz is like 25. Can’t speak for the octopus. But the sugoi is soft as fuck.

pretty bad ass except i hate that most cycling caps peeps are making these days are the kind with tiny little non functional/functioning brims. won’t keep rain or sun out of your eyes and when it rains you can’t flip the brim up so rain drips onto your face instead of your lunch or papers you’re trying to write on or whatever.
