nerdy and dull bike plans/dithering thrad 2016
I guess I should hold on to the set in the off chance I get my hands on one of those ritcheys.

Edit: yeah. I’d love a high-zoot NRD crank like a TA but I am one cheap dude.
You should buy my 175 94bcd Ritchey cranks. I’m never going to use 'em. Got a 103mm BB, 44/30 rings.

Q factor. all about the Q.

You funny little narrow-hipped people

I have to put extenders on my roadie

My 190mm spindle fattie feels fine

you should probably just start riding a horse.

never mind that shit, here comes mongo

3-way trade. Doug you buy the Ritcheys, I’ll buy your WI.

Not sure if the IRD Defiant or Mjolnir count, but thsoe are options I haven’t seen mentioned either.

look at that Q-factor!

i’ve been wanting to try the IRD defiant wide compact, but seemingly no one has reviewed them

Did Velo Orange ever improve the quality of their nerd crank?

If either Velo Orange or IRD made one in black, I might consider theirs.

I cannot abide the fauxtique styling on the Defiants, especially at that MSRP. The Mjolnir look like SS cranks – can they be run dubble?

Hiljentaa, you mentioned on instagram you had some issues with the Ritcheys even with the 103bb. Can you tell me more about those issues?

jimmy, I’ll sell you the WI crankarms for $18. I’m gonna keep the rings though.

Works fine, and comes with pretty decent chainrings

The Mjollnir version doesn’t have an inner chainring shelf, but I’ve seen it used as a double. I think the idiots at Soma came out with that version of the arms first?

I also have a pair of the 94bcd ritchey that I’ll never use. Let me know if one of you wants them.

what length? ^

175mm
Too long for me

actually lolled

I want to mount a basket on my Old Man Mountain rack, but I also want to use my Ortlieb panniers on the rail, which is even with the platform. Anyone have a good idea for spacing the basket an inch above the platform so that I can still use the rails? I don’t want to add a ton of weight, but I want the basket to be secure enough for a 12-pack.

I’d probably use some sort of aluminum spacers, hollow if possible, with hoseclamps.

Go to the dollar store buy a plastic cutting board. Drill holes where you need for mounting figure out what needs to stay to support everything then jig saw everything else away

This would be a solution to my cheap Plus bike frame

but now I’m broke and unemployed :frowning:
