Is there any place to get a 46t middle ring that is decent/not stupid expensive?

It is 2017 now, so this thread is null and void.

going to try tubelessing my road bike’s wheelset. preliminary question: if you get sealant spraying all over the place, like, on walls and also possibly ceilings, can you clean it?
^ yep
Put carbon bars on. Easton’s cheaper ones, $60 shipped on Nashbar a couple weeks ago. Did a re-wrap of my tape so I could use the old tape on my Jones bars.
I have been quoted as saying “carbon bars are unsafe and a waste of money” as early as a year ago. I’m evolving. I’m not sure if I like them or not, but they felt good in my hands before I mounted them and they feel less flexy on the bike. Vibration dampening? Who the fuck knows.
Now I have an unnatural urge to get a carbon seatpost and stem.
I think I’m going to sell the radlawn on the first nice day of spring, then dump my old '04 29er for whatever I can get and use it to fund a 27.5 or 29+ bike of some sort.
Go back to steel fork and rack on endpoint for commuting purposes.
Get stans valor 29er wheels for mtb/cross/coffee grinder.
Chill for rest of the year (lol).
I plan on purchasing nothing but consumables this year.
let’s see how long I can make good on this

This is where I also should be. I am dithering about fixing up a buddy’s old Trek but it’s probably too small for me so I should probably leave it alone.
…though I am tempted to sell Shart Mountain to get some sort of Hunter Ditherer type thing…

Same. Gonna try for n-2 or 3, get down to NFE, roadie, and shitty Surly 1x1. If I can get enough money from bike sales maybe build a crabon wheelset for NFE. Wheels are consumables, right?
Wheels are consumables, correct.
This is a good goal. As of now, I am down to my NFE, my yellow Trek, and my shitty commuter. I would really like to get a new mountain bike, but I doubt that I’ll pull the trigger this year.
My main goal this year is to get my Double Cross set up with gears.
I really want a clutch dangler, so prolly gotta go Sram. I may or may not need to build a new rear wheel for it, not sure yet.
What’s the cheapest way to get 1x clutched-dangler setup for 10s? 11s? I already have cranks/chainring. Need dangler, cassette, chain, shifter/levers.
As are framesets atmo.
Lots of small things this year…
Overall: Maintain n status.
Geekhouse: New tires within a week or so. I’m sure I’ll burn through multiple chains and sets of pads, and probably will need a new cassette this year as well. I should monitor rotor wear… not sure how long those are supposed to last.
Ritchey P650b: Set up the tubeless tires (finally). I got the tires seated last night but no sealant yet. Consider upgrading to 1x11. Chop the steerer tube.
Bridgestone MB3: Replace the Resist Nomads with Tioga Powerblocks, which I ordered last night. Put some new handlebars on and redo the cabling, maybe the Simworks Getaround bar?
sw8 fixxie: Put on some flat/riser bars for some sw8 summer cruising.
Spooky: Replace the cracked seatpost. Thinking of putting a carbon 27.2 Ritchey post in there for supple life. Replace the bars (why did I get 40cm bars the first time?). Resist the urge to upgrade to 11 speed. Consume my remaining 23c tires to make way for 25s (anyone want to trade?).
i’ve got a set of 25c conti GPs i think?
edit: i do not want to trade for smaller tires
2017 Planz
-ride the nerdavinden into the ground
-buy a yolobike, hopefully the off-grid ditherer
-turn the old trek I have into a sweet fuckarounder with flat bars, a basket, and a tudly rear rack
-start thinking about converting the tandem into a daddy-daughter radmobile
-maybe sell the fambike?
-get a supbike for the supwife, e-powered if possible
I read as ‘get a supwife for the supbike’ and snortled
- sell the frames and bikes I don’t ever ride or want
- bigger tires and/or fenders on the steamroller (650b 42’s and fenders would be amazing but only if I luck into the wheelset)
- maybe try and snag a 1x10(or 11) mtb groupset for the fat chance and finally leave 8spd deadender club on at least one bike
- ride all my bikes equally / more
You’re in Boise right? What’s up with that radlawn
In 2017:
Saila: tubeless tires, different bars (not impressed with the shape of the Zipp SL88s in 44cm), probably some small part swaps for contrast color anodized nonsense. Maybe reroute the rear brake hydro cable over the bb. Maybe get fenders for it if keeps raining a lot.
Broakland: Overhaul. Replace worn parts. Swap reupholstered Flite on, as the Volta was starting to feel awful. Start riding it again.
Edgerunner: More cheap remote control LED strips off of Amazon or whatever. Maybe add some cheap bluetooth speakers? clean the chain and replace the brake pads. Try riding with the kid on the running board, not the toddler seat. Basically keep it running and make it even more of a fun ride for a small child.
Crosscheck: Do absolutely no maintenance or repair and still it just won't die and let me buy a Hunter Ditherer / XXL coffee grinder.
New bikes?: Maybe trade the Edgerunner for an Omnium? Marin NailTrail? Endpoint? I'm only getting a new bike if an old bike heads out the door.
