Crate and Barrel is what my parrot calls their testes.

I was going to buy some of these for the lols but they are $220 shipped. Which is more than I felt comfortable spending on a product that was probably 3d printed and had the logo colored in with ballpoint pen

That totally seems like the kind of thing you should get molded to your own feet.

Barefoot pedaling is one thing, barefoot coming-to-a-stop-even-a-little-off-balance is another

I swear I was just riding along and I came to a stop just a little off balance and I just landed on it and now it’s stuck

Seriously though, not only are those pedals morally and aesthetically wrong, they seem like they’re biomechanically wrong. I’d never want the spindle that far forward underfoot.

Wish they’d focus on SPD, though the hack GP Lama posted looked pretty easy.

I considered doing that if I started riding gravel more heavily. I’m not quite sure, but a cursory look seems to suggest that the Ultegra SPD-SL pedal axle looks the same as some SPD pedals, namely the PD-A600. Here’s an M8000 and an R8000 axle assembly for comparison:

I’m sure some experimentation would be required, and who knows whether the Q factor would be correct.

im not very turned on by this.

The pedal axle itself is the same part number. One would have to swap the bearings over, but it would be pretty simple.

I’m pretty sure you could swap a flat pedal body onto it, too.

Keep trying

Won’t the nub drag the ground like a toe clip if you’re using the other side?

And yeah it’s way too far forward of a contact point, meaning you’d tire out your foot and calf trying to stabilize the work your pedaling muscles are exerting. I think?

New meaning to the phrase toe overlap

This is exciting news.

Well, not the flat pedal part.

This kinda silly is right up my alley.

TC: mine too

I would never weigh down my mountain bike with unnecessary complicated components, I’d put power flats on my basket bike.

For real my mtb pedals have bushings instead of actual bearings.

Not new & interesting bike components, but

It looks like Wahoo is getting ready to release their pedals since buying Speedplay

And SRAM bought the rights to Time’s pedals.
