New & Interesting Bike Campenaerts

It looks like a clever system, and a lot of the ugliness is because they are zip-typing the shifter to the chainstay and what the fuck are those horrible shifter button/paddle things?

I suspect you could fit a paddle box into a di2 brifter (the buttons on them are simple momentary closed switches, and I would not be surprised if the bulk of their mtb button boxes are support for the buttons), get a frame mod to lock the shifter into place, and get something that had shimano ergonomics for your drop-bar 1x 5-speed-on-a-ck-singlespeed-hub.

Too bad it’s wireless.

Wireless is about the only good thing about it for mtb considering the variety of moving linkages sitting between the shifter and derailleur.

Yeah, I can see that. Wires could be routed across the hinges so they wouldn’t bind, but I’d guess an occupational hazard of a pogo bike would be that anything looping off the frame might get scraped off.

couldn’t you also curl coated wires to work with frame dimension changes from shock action?

For a rigid frame? There’s always some slack at the dangler and the headtube, and the tubes themselves don’t stretch a meaningful amount.

for a run of control and power cables for di2 on a full suspension bike

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood you. But I’m not sure how well a di2 cable will curl, because that rubber coating is pretty stout?

true. i’m pretty jazzed on the concept of cable management via curling because i watched a couple of youtube videos about it. it’s probably not universally applicable

I mean honestly mtbs work fine with shift cables, so yeah.

Apparently SunRace does list a 12s 11-50t casssette for a standard shimano FHB, so maybe? I don’t mix and match unless its 11 speed road cassettes and chains.

What bike?
Edit: also how much actual tire did you get in there?

This looks kinda neat

I’m usually a total hater, but that looks very well done, to the point I’d consider one especially on a cost-no-object new bike build.

About the only thing I’m hatin on is these…goggle lens holders? I dunno that’s really what they look like but I’m guessing it’s just the natural extrapolation of the large single-lens sunglasses resurgence?

Motocross goggles with tearoffs?

lol seriously that is pretty amazing.

TC: have been considering 50mm+ lenses due to dry eye

mans also has a real skinny face, accentuating the largess of the lenses

Yeah, that’s pretty rad.
