Any clue what the Q factor might work out to with those cranks?
Are there no 110x5 2x12-speed chainrings? Is that BCD just ded?
Yes
I wrote to wickwerks asking them to make some though. He said heâs working on it
Why not just use 9, 10, or 11 speed chainrings? Afaik, 12 speed chains are the standard 11/128" width, so if your chainrings can pull that size of chain they should be able to do it with a 12-speed one.
(I use Biopace rings on all of my di2 machines, and wasnât Biopace originally a 7-speed thing? In any case, I donât have any trouble pulling an 11-speed chain with it.)
11s campy ring spacing is actually narrower than campy 12s by like a mm or two.
If thatâs the case then that makes upgrading easy and I can keep my nerd cranks. I had some unpleasant grinding sensations with a Shimano 12-speed chain on an 11-speed sram narrow-wide 1x ring on my mountain bike, but maybe thatâs only a concern with 1x stuff.
iirc shimanoâs 12s chain is special stuff

for hyperglide+ the inner plates look like theyâre longer to increase contact with the chainring/cassette teeth. also probably means it will make too much contact with non HG+ kit
From the looks of that page the primary change is the edges of the inner plates are more sculpted so that they wonât hang up during shifts? It might make them snuggle a little closer on old chainrings, but I canât see how thatâs too much contact?
This is really the only place it matters, match the chainring to the chain and match the chain to the cassette.
Thatâs my secret for cheap 11s chainrings. I just buy 9-10s stuff.
So, is electrival the way everyone gets into roboshift the same way the $300 10sp rival groups were back in tha day?
i sure fucking hope so
At the same time I kind of am excited to see what shitshow happens like srma shiftergate
Sram AXS 2x uses a chain with oversized rollers. So youâll need special rings.
Rotor is offering them in round and oval for their 4 bolt Aldhu cranks. Only 48/35 so far though.
There arenât many options for large roller cranks. I did a ton of searching here. You can however use an eagle 12 chain with a regular chainring just fine.
Right, I forgot about that!
can you use these cranks with an 11s chain?
From what I read you can use a chain with smaller rollers just fine.
I think that might only be for mullet builds.
Wait, so no eagle chain?
