Not far from the parasite museum!

Somehow I missed that when over there last !

Next time! Maybe not if squeamish. I randomly saw the sign and had to check it out

Can confirm, the parasitological museum is fun. I was there 20 years ago. The text was in Japanese but the displays used pictograms that were still horrifying.

Bar end cable lock. Definitely not worth the $60 I saw it listed for unless it’s a special material but pretty cool idea

Seems like it would rattle rly bad on rough roads

do you stuff it all back up the hole every time you’re done with it? or does it retract automatically into the bars like a ski lock?

There’s actually another piece that serves as the bar end, which the lock attaches to when stored

I have the Abbey lever setter which is probably the inspiration for that and I have not found it to be particularly helpful FWIW. Nice idea but in execution it’s hard to make useful.

Thanks you for assuming I was posting that ridiculous item in good faith

i want an ali X/Y Tool

if I wanted to be that accurate and replicable, I would get a fork mount to isolate the bike plumb and level and then use a laser level and a machinists level and a tape measure. I think you could get better precision for considerably less money and the tools would all be good for other things.

When it’s possible to remove the bars, I have a table saw in my basement. I just set the bars with mounted levers on it, it’s a nice reasonably flat metal surface. If a lever is askew in a way that you would notice while riding eventually, this will show up instantly.

I would also love a budget version of this

Anybody have any thoughts or oppinions on this EZup workstand?
Says it lifts up to 77 pounds which is not enough for my stupid bikes.

edit: why don’t link previews work anymore?

Looks like Unior makes a real one, but it’s five bongs.

I think I’ll try bolting one of these:

The lift stand says it lifts up to 330lbs so it should be good to lift my absurdly huge cargo bikes.

Huh, intresting. Basically an office chair/dropper post mechanism inside a work stand. Looks like only lifts 37lbs on it’s own, the 77lbs is recommended max bike weight. So you’re still lifting 40lbs on your own. Not really compelling.
