I have an irrational draw to using my Abbey lock-ring tool for the rotor swap task…and hate the 6 bolt process. To be fair, it’s not very often but often enough that I care…and care more than I do about any gains of 28 v 32h.

CL was great with getting my touring bike apart to fit into the flying travel case, it was 10 fewer bolts twice a trip. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it otherwise.

Riding in winter, I’m frequently find myself swapping out rotors as they get contaminated and then cleaned. I have half a dozen rotors in rotation. So I’m centerlock all the way. Six bolts is some caveman shit.

I don’t have a 6b or CL preference because I’m a skinflint, but I did have this happen in the middle of a night ride and boy was I miffed to be on CL right then.

6 bolt allows for cheaper rotors (can just be a flat bit of steel) and there’s a chance you carry the right tool to fuck with it mid-ride (but this is REALLY a “shit’s gone sideways” scenario…).

CL sucks less if you work in a bike shop or otherwise are touching rotors all the time. Yeah yeah it’s a proprietary bike tool, but it’s not a completely new tool, it’s a cassette or BB tool that you probably already have if you are the kind of person who has opinions about 6-bolt vs CL. Potential for lighter rotors, definitely lighter hubs. You can get adapters to stick 6-bolt rotors on CL hubs, but you can’t stick CL rotors on 6-bolt hubs.

CL hubs also look nicer than 6 bolt if you’re building the wheel up with rim brakes
