New & Interesting Bike Campenaerts

Yep, the dirty cheap ATV bar mits I got are better than the 100 dollar 45 North ones that Ash got me for xmas

I just ordered some of those cheap barmitts for the peak cold moments of this upcoming winter season. Probably won’t leave them on the bike the entire winter.

Also, if anyone was planning on getting the Showers Pass gloves you can use promo code “GearUp” for 10% off

CK is about to re-release purple anno. Mark my word.

I thought the same thing, then I realized that they are more useful than gloves (especially on a flat bar bike), and they became a permanent winter feature

It’ll probably be some artisinal purple instead of true old school ano purple

I think I’m gonna order a set. The windchill up here is gnarly and this might keep the bus commute option open for me…

How would these work with some light but insulated gloves? Interested in a set, but definitely still need gloves on my hands for when they are not in the bar mitts.

I think that’s the use case.

Yeah, just depends. They’re fine for me down to like 40°. Below that and I use a thin glove. Ymmv but the mitts are, in my experience, better than just riding around in gloves

About 50% of my logic behind wearing gloves year round is crash protections for my digits. If I scrape up my hands really bad from a fall I am completely useless at work so keeping them intact is a higher priority than most of the other bodily injuries. Chances of crashing on black ice during the winter are much higher so i’m less likely to ditch them and go full in on the bar mitts / bare hands club.

other 25% is grip/absorption when sweaty and 25% temperature regulation

Might want to rethink your figures, you’re at 100% and have yet to account for matchy match.

This is also my primary reasoning. Can’t risk the money-makers!

I’d say my numbers are,

70% crash protection
28% chilly fingers
2% sunscreen savings from skipping back of hands

should have a little zipper pocket for a tool or something

Fill it with whole coffee beans, ride, remove coffee grounds.
