fc-mt-210-2 available in 46/30, featured on new trek mid level (read- $800) bybrids. the future is now. it appears to be very cheap, 9 speed, and continues to cement alivio as being extremely okay for normies.

also, side swing alivio pusher.

The gearing that hybrids have needed for decades

Price guide? Like $40?

the 36-22 version of that crankset retails for $30, so I’d expect similar for the 46/30 version.

I hadn’t realized Shimano had tricked outboard-BB cranks all the way down to the riveted-chainring specs.

The Sora cranks are really good at being 110 BCD jawns.

I need this for my hybrid, a triple is dumb.

$40 would be correct but this appears to be an OE spec. 36/22 seems to be all thats available on the shimano b2b.

There is a $24 tourney 7/8 speed tare squaper version in 46/30 tho.

does chain guard come off? is it as heavy as the alfine stuff?

I was going to take off the chain guard on my big cargo bike (some bottom rung Shimano crank), but realized i don’t mind having it on. Keeps the pants clean?

If you want one without a chain guard, buy GRX. If you’re buying one to commute, why wouldn’t you keep that shit there to keep your pants clean?

id assume heavier. like, no published weights because are you kidding

I am absolutely in love with the big ugly chaincase on my MimeBike. I installed it mostly for (unattractive) looks but not rolling up my pants ever for commuting was a huge benefit I didn’t really expect.
I also noticed that the entire reason I was investing in long calf-length snowboarding socks was because I wanted to keep my legs warm when my pant leg was rolled up but now that I just leave the pant legs down I can wear any socks I want.

It’s almost as though they are commonplace on commuter bikes for a reason…

I’m kinda surprised igh with encased chain isn’t a more popular thing on pnw supercommuter bikes.

I’m waiting for wireless IGH that has a small dynamo built inside the rear hub to keep it charged

What’s gonna charge your clicker?

I think di2 igh charged off the front dyno is the ticket.

All you need is a power supply that gives 7.4v & has a battery backup.

Solar panel fender.
