your bikes suck and we don’t need the team of experts to prove it
I can’t even imagine trying to ride that on one off-road
It would beike trying to push a wheelbarrow down a hill
Fuck me
What the… I can’t… I mean… Damn.
Ergos. Banned.
well atleast yr good at the internets new guy
Jar of dicks etc.
Your bikes are unattractive.
Your internet sleuthing sort of gets you a pass on the Bianchi I guess.
Too lazy to quote the last 8 posts but yeah… this page. Holy shit.
So can I change my ways and fix my bikes or am I doomed to a lifetime of mediocrity?
if you have to ask, you already know the answer
There might be hope.
- replace your drop bars on both bikes with FSA shallow drop bars
- go 1cm shorter in stem.
- lower bars 5cm and htfu. if you can’t fully htfu maybe go up a bit but not all the way to where you were
- replace garbage wheels/tires with some decent handbuilt jawns. Belgium+ or TB14 rims to 105 hubs would be good
For mountain bike… this abortion might just be worth aborting
- eliminate fred bars and long stem from your life. don’t try and sell them just cut them up and recycle so nobody else can make this same error
- put a 70-90mm stem and some nice wide bars with no more than 10 degrees of sweep
- if you plan on riding that bike on anything more technical than the fire road in the picture I would ditch the sb8s and setup tubeless. If no I guess consider keeping worst fat tire hybrid bike intact as is.
No one will be your friend with ergos.

Ride your bikes some more.
What Endpoint said.
I’d move point 3 to number one. and change “htfu” to “start doing yoga”
Hey Guy.
I don’t know if you even need yoga. In the first off season that I actually did work in the gym I did a whole bunch of back extensions. After a month my bars felt genuinely too close and I went lower and longer.
Whatever your flavor just a little bit of work to improve your core strength and particularly your lower back will go a long way in the battle against such a geezer setup.
Acclimation is often overlooked too. I know there are plenty of bike fitters out there that try and move people a little at a time and encourage riders to be timid with their setup. If the goal is to have your bars 4cm lower just put them 4cm lower and ride it. It’s probably not going to feel good at first but unless you start to run into hip angle issues or some serious inflexibility chances are you’re body is going to adapt.
The best bike fitter I know puts the rider in a position that balances power and aerodynamics first and ignores perceived comfort then works backwards to find the compromise. You won’t find the limits to your position unless you actively look for them.
I would love to spend a couple grand with some of the more famous fitters across the country. I wonder how much the setups would vary and how fucking awful many would be.
And I wonder if any of them approach the White Folks Pro Fit ™ that I’m so fond of.
Holy shit. Braden dropping some real science in this thread. On a noob, no less. That’s actually some genuinely good advice.
I’m just going to heckle the dude until he goes away.
Fixed that for you.
I’d say Braden is spot on except for MTB stem I’d say replace with 50-70mm stem but that comes from more of an interest in sending it vs racing.
Thanks for the advice. I’ll report back after changes have been implemented (and dicks have been eaten).
Ha… 90 is short for me. My last two race bikes had 110mm stems on them. But you rite… I don’t send it… ever. Running a 70 on the Krampus felt real good though… at least on the one ride I got in before leg snapped.
