wait, is the Sequel just a slightly more on-trend Coda?
I’m not mad at that.

Looks it
The sequel is priced too high for true normies bike territory. The answer is actually a terrible old hybrid from Craigslist.
I think the Coda is still the answer
Coda is so cheap!
It’s a really nice dew.
Wife’s cousin is looking for a bike to ride around with kids. The base price coda or dew is too much for them several times over. I guess normies have no idea what bikes cost. Let’s see, you can buy a new bike that will work fine for years and cost not much to maintain or an old bike that’s cheap and that is probably gonna need $150 in work, if you’re lucky, and which will never be as good as a base model coda or dew.
my old boss used to say all bikes cost $400. some cost more but all bikes cost $400
Norco Indie is a better made Dew. Good luck finding one though.
The $729 version with wet brakes and a 46/30 crank is especially impressive.
All the bottle bosses are welded rather than rivnuts. Internal routing is very clean. Headset is a semi-sealed ZS44. Reflective details all over the frame.
Only significant drawback is the slightly small stock tires. But it’s a 650b bike with ample clearance to go up to a 50mm tire.
Sold a bunch of both this year. I’d always recommend the Indie 2 if budget works.
Ok, I have a buddy who is 6’3 and wants a bike for kid hauling/commuting and possibly some -what are we calling pukebacking now-. Who is making a 61(?) gravel tourer that can handle things
Literally any bike Surly makes. Drop bars? Straggler or Midnight Special. Or the Bridge Club for alt bars.
have you ever actually pedaled a bridge club? this close to ignoring myself and buying a frameset for normie but not normie purposes
The bridge club looks like the nicest current surly to me. Clean and simple disc frame.
Is this XL going to fit someone that is 6’3
Clearly he needs a rivendell.
Riv fit guide, the number after 6’ indicates number of top tubes
Are we just looking at steel?
Salsa Vaya in 59.5, Norco Search XR S in 60.5, maybe the Niner RLT in 59 or 62.
I’m probably not the best judge for sizing. I’m 6’2" and ride a 56-67.
Yeah doesn’t everybody make this bike? 6’3" is like a normal XL height. Gravel tourer that also pukepacks/kid hauls/commutes is like every big tire pavement bike that isn’t racy.
Yeah, when I was looking 3 years ago, it was still pretty niche. Now, everyone has a fat tire roadie, it seems.
