Please Tarck, I implore you, help me make all my bike decisions

Can you get Whiskey stuff?

Occasionally. A few boutique shops like justpedal.nl have some Whisky stuff, but not a great selection of it.

I don’t see anything in the description that says how (or where) they’re measuring width. A lot of Nitto bars are measured at the drops, while most brands measure their flared bars at the hoods these days. So those “52cm” bars might be narrower than you think.

The VO novorandi have a great bend, backsweep and just enough flare

y’all like something other than the timber yew for a mtb cowbell?

worried about spanish bears?

oblivious pedestrians in the bike lane

just stand up on your pedals and yell VAMANOS BEARS! at them

I use the Granite Cricket. If hikers don’t recognize the bell coming up behind them, then Tarck Bear help them.

I like how that has a normal bell mode that sounds at least as good as rockbros

Talk me out of this, which is for sale local to me for $60 asking. I’m already watching an ENO hub and the seller sent me an offer of $150.

Nice!

I bought that frame used the year after it was new. Rode it in multiple configurations for 30 years until it cracked underneath me on the Williamsburg bridge. It’s well under 3lbs and I’m well over 250. You won’t regret it.

I’m still riding the fork. You can’t have it. It’s in my profile pic

It spent a good chunk of its life on an eno hub that I traded to pears.

That purple fade :purple_heart:

If you find a threaded fork for it, I have the og stem with integrated cable hanger I’ll send you for shipping

Well I got it essentially for “$44.” I may take you up on that @jame5on !

I wasn’t going to ride this Flite Ti I got (attached to a Campy aero post, both for $8) at an estate sale, so I asked the guy if he’d be interested in a partial trade, he was hesitant but once I was there we made the deal for $40 + the saddle.

I’m currently debating whether to make it fixed/SS or a 5-speed and leaning just slightly more towards 5-speed. It would be a little more practical to jump on and ride with the wife n’ kid that way. I could easily find an old wheelset for cheap, stick a freewheel on there, get whatever derailer (but I’d get 90s 600 tricolor for fun) and call it a day.

i think this isnt quite a shart Q, but more of a pre-purchase inquiry to see what other people are doing.

so if we get this house, we’re finally going to have a garage, which i haven’t had for a while. right now we have 11 bikes. i’d say we would probably like to hang 8-10 bikes up.

i have used the standard ceiling hook jobbers and also the track-style hooks, which were somewhat nice but kind of finicky at times as far as actually moving them around.

i’m curious about some of the newer tilting racks. none of our bikes have fenders at the moment as they’re mostly mountain bikes. there’s this velocirax and also a “steady rack” variety.

has anyone used one of these? theyre kind of spendy, but it seemed like an option to make 10 bikes not take up quite as much space.

feel free to post your bike storage messes with first hand accounts.

I installed a set of these ones from storeyourboard and am quite happy with how far they swivel out of the way:
