584 40s or 622 40s? I’d max out at 32s w/ fenders for a 622 road bike but otherwise looks fine.
Yeah, I put a deposit in six months ago when I had a crypto job and money seemed fake. I would not be doing a build or even looking for any type of bike to buy if I hadn’t put in the deposit.
I was thinking the bike would be 700c. Maybe 40s without fenders. I don’t see the need to be bigger.
ohhhhhh got it
MTB replacement time. Tarck pls help me.
I’m after a 29er with preferably a Shimano build kit for PNW trails and summer bikepacking trips. Good climber. Zero preference in travel numbers because I don’t know what’s appropriate beyond what y’all tell me. $3000 budget. No Trek.
A not small part of me wants a Transition Trans Am…
next question
Ugly + SRAM
Well I didn’t recommend the Shimano build because it is like $300 more
sir this is mountain bikes
Plum smash tho
Ya srsly. Once it is between your legs… The bike I’ve been riding lately makes me wish it was this Ibis lol.
What I don’t like about it is the shock mount takes up real estate for the frame bag you’ll never use on the bikepacking trip you’ll never take.
I’ve got a couple of Norco Optic C1 bikes I’m motivated to GTFO. DM if you are interested.
Get a Norco from Braden.
I have a Norco Optic C1 from the beginning of this model run and love it
just did a loop at Tiger Mountain yesterday
Maybe too much travel and still uggo but a good price
Dang, some great choices here.
I thought coil forks were to be avoided and air was the one true path
Also I remember Amy and Todd saying 160 is too much and to stick with the 120-140 range, but I don’t know why other than “plow” was mentioned. It seems like all the trail bikes are ~140 with a few outliers here and there at 130 or 120, so maybe 160 shouldn’t be in the running.
I was really looking for a Ripley AF with 120 rear/130 front but I read a bunch of reviews that said the Ripmo AF that I ended up with with 150/160 didn’t loose out much on climbing and was lots better on the way down plus it was on sale!
Or just buy Amy’s Transition and don’t worry about the bike packing bit!
I’m already tired of thinking about it. I have a ton of stuff to take over to Recycled Cycles so I may just use whatever they give me in store credit on whatever All Mountain they can order.
