No no no. We need to get more granular here. You might have multiple bikes that have the same gain ratio with specific gear combinations, leading to an overcount. How many unique gain ratios in the stable?

my ones are:
1x1
1x1
1x9
1x12
2x11

for a total of 45, with an average of 9 per bike.

sounds like if i just re-distribute, i can have all 9s, trouble will be fitting 2x4.5 on the road bike and cramming 9 gears into the back of the track bike.

no its not some bizarre whyte notation (paging @orc) thats 3 bikes with 1x1 chain drive and 8speeds COMING FORM INSIDE THE HUB
also
3x7
2x7
2x8
2x10
and several Xx0 / 0xX (either no rings or no sprocket) or X_X some number of rings and sprockets but no chain
also not one but two double sided fixed wheels.
my grasp of maths and statistics doesn’t allow me to actually use this data to come up with any numbers but its probably 420
