Portland? Track and Road Season 2013

Ryan, pretty sure Frank was asking roundabout coz collegiate.
But yeah, I don’t think I’m doing TdS.

We actually started this past weekend (UCSD) and we are hosting conference April 20/21. No weekends off this year.

You do Blvd or red trolley?

Sadly no, same weekend as our intersquad, and we don’t get any gas reimbursement so an 1100 mile driving weekend isn’t within my budget (as much as I’d like to race every weekend). Are those good races?

Depends on how well you can carry yourself over the line.

anyone else doing snelling?

UCSC weekend for me, so no can do.

What are some of the domestic races in Nor Cal I should absolutely not miss? From a fun perspective for a more climby type. Already planning on Wente, Berkeley Hills, Mt. Hamilton, Patterson Pass, Dunnigan, Winters.

I hear the pescadero classic is a really nice one. I’ve ridden parts of the course with snowman and mikey before and it’s gorgeous.

copperoppolis is another one that is pretty rad. the worst ground going up the climbs, and the most harrowing descent to start/finish.

I think you guys need a Bay Area thread.

Also, how many races do y’all typically do in a season?

You realize this isn’t the Portland racing thread, right? 'twas just named that since they were posting all up in here regarding track racing.

finally got around to ordering my license
still not really motivated to train much outside the gym and just fucking around in the hills

i had about 20 race days last year, and did about 25 races. this year i hope to get my days to to 30, while having 35 races. that number could increase if i get a track bike and race on wednesdays.

Got mine too.

Doing only 1 outside ride per week is killin’ me though. This week i will get a few… Got up for our weekly ride wed, doin’ the cake race (does that count?) sat, then the salem gravel grinder sunday. 3 rides in one week!

Gonna see about taking another online class next semester so I have more daytime to ride. Can’t afford to cut any time out of work.

My race schedule is lookin’ like Dirty circles (yawn… looks boring), Gorge Roubaix, maybe check out that Rose Garden circuit race in April, then head into Track season. Probably gonna have to skip out on Banana Belts due to them being moved to Saturdays.

Gonna get back on the bike today, not looking forward to finding out how much slower I am after a couple weeks off

I’ve got about 15 races on my tentative list so far this year but I might join in a few more if teammates are there

Obviously, I do not!

i’m hoping to have 25-35 races/days in by the end of the season. i’m at 3 now. next weekend is a 3day/stage race and the weekend after is a 2day/3stage race.

Collegiate will put me at about 10 weekends/25 races this year, then probably 10-15 domestic, assuming once I graduate I still have time to ride bikes?

No… Diff gravel thing.
I think all the velodirt rides are on saturdays, so I probably wont get to go unless I want to fight it out with my coworkers Kyle and Justin, cuz they wanna go to all of 'em
