Post your Dirty Jumper

Lol, Internet is excellent for shit talking to strangers. The bandana is actually a scarf and I’m FAR from a fixiebro. Ya see, there are some people who were into track bikes and such before it went apeshit back in 2008-10.

Natero, just out of curiosity, when’d you get your first fixie?
Sometime in 2006 or 7, lol, so I’m not that far off from what I stated. I had a Schwinn Caliente from the 80’s that I made single speed when I was 15 or 16 (I’m 23, now), it had steel wheels and I was riding in the rain sometimes so you already know what happened there. I was workin at Toys R Shit in HS and got a deepv wheelset for 3 bills on bike shop recommendation and it had a fixed cog on it already. I grew up around a lot of former/current messengers and Jamaican dudes who back home, only rode fixed (their only option, from what ive been told), and kept telling me to turn the wheel around, and one day I did, lol. So I knew something about them and was on a “find out as much about different bikes” phase in general. I had no idea they were crazy popular until starting the messenger job (after HS, in summer of 07) and seeing them everywhere. I grew up in Queens and it isn’t very cycling friendly and seeing people on anything better than a toy store bike was rare. I got a Cdale Capo when the Schwinn took a shit and cracked in three places during the winter in early 08.

Thats my lil story. I’m not trying to be a dick or anything, to anyone, I like most of the people here on this site, hence me coming back. I only gave what I received to the dude. I’m not butthurt cause there are more important things to be hurt over than someone not liking how my bike looks, it’s comfortable and it works. Since I have a response to some dumb comment I’m tenderhole, lmao. Tenderhole is pretty fucking funny actually. I am a follower of AYHSMB and DGAF, but sometimes I like to have an opinion like everyone else,

However, I don’t completely agree with the “filtering of the Oury lover” that gets done and I never did, but if it works, it works. I just don’t agree and it can be left at that.
forget DGAF

he never even learned AYHSMB
Yeah, you’re right. But he hasn’t learned to not GAF.

tldr, tbird. you’re not natero. he’s a fixiebro (not really, but maybe really). you’re cool.

[I like the Jamaican dude reference too. I myself lean strongly Rastafarian, religiously speaking.]

and yeah, the hazing can get kinda fratbro-ish in the worst possible way, and I don’t participate or enjoy it. but sometimes it crosses over into absurdity and then I forget about what I just said.

Seriously tbird doesn’t deserve all this flack. He just still living the og tarckbike dream. How quick you all to forget.

i think the deal is that everyone seems to cop some flak for some shit on this site
be it bikeparts or your fit or your conspicuous consumption or facial hair or whatever
the only defence appears to be presenting an appendage for the sucking

FYI @Tbird, I meant “fixiebro” as in FELLOW fixiebro.

Don’t mind these rando-mountain-cross nazi tenderholes. Give 'em 2 more years til they hit mid-life-crisis and want to pay you big bucks for that Lo Pro.

Now, sell me that front brake.

this site is full of terrible fucking bikes

people seem to forget that

I lie about what I ride all the time irl because bike shop job

roadbikereview at least they don’t think their caad10 with ultegroz shit dont stink

this place is full of fuckoffs of the bike world that found themselves on the internet

really, i think most of you need to go back and read the threads that started this place once a month or so to see the shit you’ve apparently climbed out of

this setup was awesome

tbassist your bike is rad, and you ride it

ya’ll haters need to die in a fire

How long did it take Baylis to do the work?
3 1/4 years for most of the bike. A couple of parts arrived a few months after that…

The guy fixing the bb/crankset took 20 months, too. In the end, I gave him a deadline of a bike show I wanted to take it to and he said “no problem, will have it done next week”. He took an extra month and so I had to build it up the night before the show. Bloody tenderhole tortured geniuses…
That is quite awhile.

Tarck has moved on.

We are about artisanal axes now bro. Fixies are so mess’ed in the 90s

Get a job as a geologist, have a baby or live in a van. Then lets tenderhole.

What did I miss?

People are too sensitive around here. Why is catdrew mad? I’m very confused. I’m sorry you don’t like my bikes or the money I make from selling my bikes. Fuuuuuuck you.
